Hitachi 47” Series 6 Full HD LED 3D TV $1129 down from $1999

40

Comes with two sets of 3D glasses and a 2 year warranty.

OK so I know almost nothing about this TV and I can't even find a review for it. I know that Penta have it for $1989 and also that 1989 was when I first pashed a girl:

I came across the deal on Mild Surprise:

http://www.mildsurprise.com/index.php (Choose Harvey Norman and sort by Surprise Score)

I've not seen a product get a Surprise Score this high before and the only bigger surprise is that I don't really know what a Surprise Score is (other than the fact that it was dedicated to an OzBargain member).

They also have the 42" ($947) and 55" ($1639) TVs on sale:

If anyone has had any experience with these TVs perhaps they could add their impressions.

Hitachi is not the same Japanese Hitachi it used to be. A Chinese company bought the name I believe.

    $1100 for a virtually no-name branded 47" TV in 2013? Hmmmm.
IMO this Toshiba is a better deal.

As for the original $2000… Ha.

    • This really confused me too.. Hitatchi is a brand of power tool. There are a number of 55 inch TVs of the same variety that are cheaper or at least competitive with this "discounted" price.

      • Hitachi TV's used to be a reasonable quality set… but no longer.. it's now just a brand name stuck on any junk.
In reality this is more likely worth around $600-$700.

      • Hitachi is also a brand of Train. And I think heavy machinery too.

        • The Hitachis are the worst (and I think the oldest) trains in the Melbourne Metro fleet :P

I think Hitachi makes a whole bunch of different stuff.

Hitachi used to make excellent TV's about 5 years ago, but has since been taken over by a Chinese company using the same name.

  • The big thing about Hitachi/Fujitsu/Sony was that their products where bullet proof because they where made in Japan, times are changing

You can get a 50" Panasonic ST50 for around this price, arguably the best value TV on the market.
