Looking for a Highly Durable, Good Camera Phone (with Headphone Jack)

Hi everyone,

I'm having trouble finding a camera phone that fits all my criteria — the BL7000 is the closest I've found. The advertised durability (IP68/IP69) rating is ideal. It's missing the headphone jack, goodish camera (no telephoto), and I don't want to risk getting such a new phone though.

A Pixel 8a crossed my mind for its camera too and durability, IP67. Again, no headphone jack, no telephoto either as far as I can tell.

My general criteria

  • Android
  • Cheap (~$600-700)
  • Headphone jack
  • Solid build quality
  • Long-lasting battery (>5000mAh)
  • Good camera quality (>=50MP), preferably with good telephoto
  • Can run simple apps (spotify/firefox) without lagging
  • More water and debris resistant than IP54 (is that possible with a headphone jack?)

If there is a phone that fits these reqs., please post any you know!
Ones without headphone jacks are not preferred but a good deal is a good deal.

    Can't do with usb-c to 3.5mm jack dongle ?

    Headphone jack / 5000mah / 50mp + telephoto / ip68 , but not cheap = Sony Xperia 1 / Sharp R9 Pro

  • Budget android phones with 3.5mm jacks

Most high end phones don't have a 3.5mm jack anymore, you'd have much better options from Google / Samsung if you're willing to put up with a USB-C to AUX dongle or use some kind of bluetooth adapter dongle for your wired earbuds or headphones.

The Galaxy S24 for e.g is going cheap now and it's IP68 resistant.

Yeah the Blackview's camera isn't going to be anything great. Would recommend finding some camera/video samples from the BL7000 online and judging for yourself tho

    Good camera quality (>=50MP)

FYI megapixel count isn't everything when it comes to camera quality.

  • Just get one with a dongle to do conversion to headphone jack. Although I prefer the Bluetooth headphones now.

    Headphone jack

Is it to listen to music with Kmart $10 headphones
Or listen to mp3's with Sennheiser HD 800 S
Or spirit of I just still want one, who cares about the new tech

    • Nothing about music in OP.

    • Or just buy a USB C to 3.5mm audio dongle. And charge your phone through MagSafe.

  • Thanks for commenting everyone

I understand some people's confusion about my insistence on the headphone jack. I simply like having one. That said, I never considered the headphone dongle - it's a great idea and like suggested, the S24 checks all the boxes. Lugging around a dongle sounds annoying but I don't imagine it'll be as bad as I think it will be. It being a big brand is also reassuring over some unknown-to-me brand.

I did nearly buy the Sony Xperia 10 VI as it checks most of the boxes too after dcep's suggestion for the Xperia 1. The crummy frame put me off it though :/

Thanks again everyone. I believe my final choice is the S24 :)
