For those who missed out on the 2500X deal, here is the Io2 at a great price.

I could also claim the $5 ebay Plus voucher to bring this down to $64. This is a well reviewed, although not sure how helpful the Bluetooth is!

Currently $91 via Amazon AU.

      Available again.

  • The Bluetooth is good for my Home Assistant box knowing when my neighbour's toothbrush needs a charge :(

    • The only way I can understand this is if you're bonking your neighbour and left your toothbrush there

Oh right, I read comments below. Bluetooth is open? Yeesh.

      • Yeah it does BLE broadcasts :(

  • Differences between Io2 and 2500X?

    • Io2 toothbrush head is way more expensive I guess.

  • although not sure how helpful the Bluetooth is!

Pretty pointless on it's own I'd say but if you're running Home Assistant it does work well with it (my 7000 series does at least)
Reports a whole bunch of info you probably dont need but could be used as a trigger for other automations, morning or night routines etc.
Downside, bluetooth is open. Had to keep ignoring my neighbours Oral-Bs that would get detected.

The 2 series isn't listed as supported though, does it actually have bluetooth? I don't see mention of it.

      Io2 does not have bluetooth.

  • looks like the only real advantage of the io toothbrushes over the pro toothbrushes is longer battery life.
battery life doesn't matter if you are at home, it is easy to charge and most put back on the charging base after each use.

con is more expensive heads that you need to buy every 3 months.

Yeah, anything with Li-Ion battery, eg the 2500x will last at least a week, close to 2 weeks. Long enough.

  • Anyone here got any recommendations for cheap 3rd party brush heads?

Which model has the most powerful motor? I dont care about all the WIFI bluetooth features.
