  • Whats the warranty guys? Onsite?

Surely $1999 RRP on your site can't be right?

    • It's more around $1,500, which is still half price.

      • +3

$1500? nah. Dell no longer sells the 7010 MFF. A 7020 with i5 1400T/8G/256GB is 1141.57AUD direct from Dell.

I was referring to it's price at release, but it's still the cheapest OP 7010 that I can find with the same spec (the one you linked has 8GB RAM).

          • +3

@topherboi: It's a decent price, but the was pricing on OP's site is fiction.

If I needed something with this much grunt for (another) homelab server, I'd consider buying this.

I couldn't find the 7020 with the i5 and 16GB RAM. Dell didn't offer an upgrade option either. I included the key specs in my comment.

This is Dell, not Apple, so the extra stick of RAM is likely to be $100-200, not ~$350.

      Strange proportions….big hips

      • I can not lie

Or a Mac Mini which will smoke this unless you specifically need Windows or Linux.

swear computers like this show up regularly for 300 bucks

    • +4

      Link to a deal for a MFF/USFF with a 13th gen i5, 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD for $300?

    • +6

Refurb and maybe 5 years old. Yes absolutely

    • +7

To be fair most Dell Optiplex look the same. The difference Is the $300 units will have a CPU that is at least several generations old and probably won't meet the TPM 2.0 requirement for Windows 11. This CPU is only 2 generations old and comes standard with Windows 11

      • 8th gen are being retired already with plenty available second hand now, and are compatible with Windows 11.

        • Yea I got a bunch of refurb dell optiplex AIO (computer built into the screen) for under $300 each for work offices and factories.
All run windows 11 great. (And came with pro licence)

Dell Outlet is selling a slightly better model at $989: https://www.dell.com/en-au/outlet/refurbished-optiplex-7010-…

Bit of a slap job on the specs and photos. I'd rather spend the extra $100-150 from a bigger store with more locations and know exactly what I'm getting

  • These things always thermally throttle pretty bad. They're alright when you turn them on, then you open some browser windows and get the CPU and the fan is working overtime to keep it below 90 degrees. It really is insufficient cooling.

If you want a mini you should probably go with an AMD 5825u etc. or an N150 if you're gagging for Intel.
