Good little intro to the game, I play this quite often with the young lad and he enjoys it.
You get the board and everything so we sometimes swap around to other pre built decks he has.

From the website-
Prepare for a Pokémon battle with the ready-to-play Pokémon Trading Card Game Battle Academy The Battle Academy includes everything two players need to play, with guides to the decks so your first game is easy to follow. You can choose Armarouge or Pikachu to lead your team in a heads-up battle against another Trainer. Then, switch up the decks to play Darkrai against Armarouge or Pikachu, and lead a different team of Pokémon into the arena With a little strategy and a little luck, you can battle with the best.

Great price, paid $40 at Kmart for my 5 year old as he was interested to learn Pokemon after collecting a few in some happy meals some time back.

I hadn’t actively collected paper Pokemon since the original 151 days, and even then i never battled even then. (I have literally hundreds of hours between paper MTG and MTG arena though).

I gotta say , how OP Is mega pikachu ex? It pretty much sweeps everything once it’s got its 3 energy. I guess it’s a good introduction to the op meta of the game these days, similar to what Yu gi oh is like too. Whereas the darkai deck and the armarouge decks at least these still a chance to win even when they get out and energized.

I never really jumped into the TCG for Pokemon prior to this and the "My First Battle" set.
Growing up I was into OG Yugioh before the cards got out of hand.
It's been interesting learning it the same time as my son has, too bad it's a bloody struggle to get packs just to collect.

Shame about the stock levels, would've got a copy to play with the little one and the nephews.

    • Yeah there musn't have been more than a few. It never said less than 10, but it can't have been much more

I'll keep an eye on it and see if stock rolls in.

        • Might be worth looking at other retailers too. The price on this has been decreasing for a bit, but never had enough stock to make a proper post.
They might be phasing it out

          • @InsertCrow: Got a copy at that price. They re-release each year it seems.

  • This appears to be back in stock for $29.31 for anyone who missed out.
