        • Where did you find them cheaper?

Getting a Switch 2 and it's my first Nintendo console — never owned one before. So here's my question:

If I am borrowing my friend's Zelda BOTW for Switch 1, will I be able to play it on Switch 2 without paying the upgrade, if I don't mind the old-generation graphics?

If I am borrowing my friend's Zelda BOTW for Switch 1

Should be able too. It is a physical Switch 1 card afterall?

    • +1

Yeah you can, it's one of the listed compatible games. The upgrade is just to have enhanced graphics.

  • Picked up a copy of Mario Kart World and Bravely Default (Game-Key card I know, no choice…) for $84 and $39 separately with sign up coupons x 2. That should keep me busy over the long weekend! Thanks OP!

    • I thought the welcome email had a minimum spend that Bravely Default didn't meet?

      • It's $50 but you can just add some socks or home stuff to make it.

      • I added a gift bag to pass the $50 minimum spend!

  • I was going to pull the trigger on the Street Fighter VI game, but then I realized it is a digital download. I prefer buying the digital game and not having to find the cartridge and swapping it.

I am setting up Deku Deals alarms for this game. I already own it on PS5 anyway.

And yes, I am aware of the " you don't own any digital content " paraphernalia. This particular game is a digital key anyway, it will need servers to be available in the future if you want to download it in 2050.

    • Sure, but you can sell a game keycard - you can't sell a digital game.

      • Yeah, am I not planning to sell the game or the switch two. It is part of my collection now.

  • is mario kart world any good? first reports seem to be no, too filled with bland boring open world space.

    • who would buy mario kart for the open world, it's a really cool addition and has a lot of content even if its a little "boring", but its the knockout tour and other modes that really matter

    • I tried it yesterday and today for a bit. The new visuals, animations and sounds, and the extra players online make it worth the bundle price.
Buying the game as standalone is a : maybe…. Not…??? The thing is that this game will unlikely be on discount.
I would not bother with the open world stuff, I find it boring…. I don’t like open world anything in general.

      • The open world bit is basically a "cozy" way to explore the world, learn the mechanics of the game, and to try particular combinations in order to get the P switches, question marks, medallions and what not.

There's no pressure, you can rewind, it's just a "drive around and explore" bit.

Cozy games have become quite popular n the just few years.

And for what it's worth, I think Mario Kart World is really great - the racing is awesome, knock out is cool, and the soundtrack is absolutely brilliant.

        • Agree, also loving the soundtracks.

Imagine paying for a cartridge that doesn't even have a game one it 😂😂😂😂😂
