High Value ShopBack Gift Card Stuck in Pending for 3 Days

Hi everyone,

I purchased a high value gift card via ShopBack over the weekend to take advantage of a limited-time deal at The Good Guys for a purchase for a TV and a vacuum. Despite the payment being successful and cashback already received, the gift card remains in a “Pending” status after 2 days.

The online chat box is helpless Only automated responses; no effective assistance.

Two days later, got the reply from @gotyourback and thanks to those loving souls who helped me here and gave me the support.

Update on 3rd Jun, after 72 hrs, the Shopback team emailed me that I will be getting a refund in 3-7 business days instead of getting the gift card. And the refund will be deducted the cash back received in the account.

Me and my husband, We not only missed the promotion but also under huge pressure during this period. Not to mention that our time wasted dealing with the issue.

TBH, I prefer to get the gift card plus my cash back rather than a refund. The refund that based on your calculation is not my full payment amount but deducted with the cashback.

Hopefully nobody will need to experience this anymore. From what I learned on this lovely forum, this is indeed a ADAGCHS.

      Honestly, it's startin' to feel like a scam. We put our trust in these platforms, and they can't even deliver on their promises.

    If its a limited time offer it may be worth buying it now instore with normal card and then after you recieve gift card asking them to switch payment methods

        maybe lay-by can do this?

        The Good Guys does not have a national Layby policy - however many of our stores will take a deposit and hold a product for an agreed time frame.

    just been pokin around lookin for the best cashback mob. Had a squiz at Cashrewards, but crikey, saw a heap of folks grumbli, Then someone reckons ShopBack's the go, but now I'm seein
    Fair dinkum, after a hard day's work on the farm, the last thing I want is me hard-earned dollars goin' walkabout.

    Updates:
    Haven’t received the gift card @gotyourback
    The card (previously showing pending status) from available gift card page was hidden now;
    the payment for this purchase used a tiny bit (80cents )of previous cash back which has been returned somehow.

    Had to ask/beg the salesman to hold the good guy order for another day; hopefully can get the gift card today ;/

        It took the team almost 72 hours to resolve the issue. During the time, we could not make any purchases due to money been taken. We were anxious about the money due to the high amount.
        We were under huge pressure during this period. Not to mention that our time wasted dealing with the issue.
