Though work well, these are too bulky. I prefer vertical ones, at least they don't block other outlets even though it makes hard to access the switch (which once turned on needs rare access).

I went with the slim 2 pack to test them out as previous reviews mentioned the other socket is still accessible then.

      • Yeah, but this deal is for bulky ones

        • +1

I added the link for the ones I purchased in the description, 20% off the 2 pack.

  • Anyone have any long term experience with these and their reliability?

    • +1

I had 2, one stopped working after 1 and half year., second one is still working after 3+ years.

    • I couldn’t get HomeKit working on mine, but been reliable using automation in their app.

I have x8 and all stilll working after 3+/- years. I don’t run heavy loads like heaters etc through them so perhaps the reason still running fine?

  • Do these have a memory and provide a weekly/monthly power usage? I think the ones I have now only seem to tell me in real time what the current draw is, not historical/accumulated usage.

    • Meross app does provide that detail

Yes, I've had some for 3-4 years and working well with Day/Week/Month/Year breakdowns.

Stopped working after one year. . Tripped all my appliances

    • They have a two year warranty - you should hit up their support email!

      • I checked Amazon and found already 2 years and 3 month's have lapsed

  • has anyone ever seen any of these that will work with the 15A plug with the bigger earth pin?

    • They're rated for 10A, so that's a no go on the 15A plug

I'm using these and they are big in size. You wont be able to use the adjacent socket because of the size issue. Bought from Kogan 4 for $40 delivered. One stipped working after 10 months.
Also you need to install a Meross app to operate them as I couldn't link them with my Smart life app/account as I've linked all my other smart boards, plugs, wifi security cameras etc to it.

    • I regret buying these not even because they are big, but because they are Meross only and can't be used in Tuya. Really annoying when you need a second app. Maybe not so if these are the only smart things you own.

If you try using these to measure your gaming PC or home cinema system, they are low quality junk. All 4 of mine died within 6 months.

I opened it up and investigated - same issue in all 4. They use the cheapest possible 10V 1000 microfarad junk capacitors on the main circuit, and they had popped on all 4. This appears to be a VERY common issue on all these "smart plugs" and the single most common source of failure. If you shake yours around and it makes a rattling sound, that's how you know.

Luckily it was easy enough to desolder and install two larger replacement capacitors in parallel to handle much higher loads, but beware. Not everyone has the want or interest to do this themselves, so I'd recommend not buying these at all. The hardest part was actually getting the PCB out as the case was 3 screws, but the PCB was soldered in as well.

Video on how to do it, if you're interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-4AYtIK5Yc

  • Got a 4 pack. 1 was DOA. Had to send meross a video but they replaced without issue. Not the best quality control if they don't work out of the box. Too bulky and take up 2 plugs. Also seemed to interfere with my wifi network - went haywire when I had a plug in the home office where the router is located. As soon as I turned off the meross, network didn't have issues (continual disconnects of various things from wifi).

Integrated into home assistant fine. I am using one behind the washing machine to monitor when it finishes etc. Hate the bulkiness of these but has been going ok for about a month now.

    • I bought a few dual packs of Flat Double Adaptors (Left and Right). Can then use two side by side. Not ideal having to use them but works fine.

I cant see where this would have any Australian Standards compliance, or an RCM Mark.

Based on the reviews, I think you would be crazy to have this in your house.
