The fastest consumer SSD on the planet seems to be around an ATL.

To be very clear, this is a niche, high performance type product that not many people are in the market for. You're paying a lot extra for top tier performance and need a Gen 5 motherboard to take advantage of it. Please don't feel compelled to point out that you can buy much cheaper drives than this, we already know.

Newer models are just starting to be released that perform as well, but are cooler and use less power. However they cost a lot for the time being, around $900 for this size.

  • i wonder what real world performance it makes, i was watching a review where the 990 EVO SSD was basically faster than the NVME drives, (and they are very bottlenecked by sata) cant imagine they would make that much of a difference…

that said, I have a NVME PCIe 5 that needs a fillin!

    • Zero difference for "normal" users.

Windows boot times and Game load times barely change between the fastest and slowest modern drives, you need to have some very specific use cases to see a performance boost from a drive like this.
