It's just what Nintendo does - kind of like Apple. They try to avoid big discounts on their products.

    • +1

First party games, sure. Third party games that are on game key cards, I bet they wind up cheaper than ever.

      • Yeah. Counting on heavy 3rd party depreciation.

  • How long does it take for them to send the $10 code after signing up to the newsletter??

    • +1

      12 weeks

    • Did you get yours? I am still waiting.

      • Still waiting, 2 different accounts too

  • Did Switch games just increased 30% ?

  • Price match with JB then pay with GC

Is the Mario kart a brand new game or just the same as before? Pretty sure it was originally a wii game… that's like 10+ yo game

    • +1

1992's Super Mario Kart for Super Nintendo was the first Mario Kart game. Wayyyyy before Mario Kart Wii.

Mario Kart World is a brand new game.

      • +2

I think he means MK8 launched on Wii U which is correct. His wording is not great.

    • Nintendo profit solely on a few characters, they’d be bust if just for console selling 😂

      • Nintendo sell the consoles at a profit, usually.

  • Shows the following error for me
    "Unable to add to cart."
    Any help would be appreciated

How do you know if you get a physical cartridge or just a code? I want something that I can resell? Not paying $90 and having no option to cut my losses.

    • +2

It's clearly labelled on the boxes.
Additionally, if a physical cart is a 'game key card' (doesn't contain the game, but when inserted the game is downloaded, this can be resold) Nintendo now requires this be clearly labelled on the box for all Switch 2 games. For example: Bravely Default Remastered

Key cards are sadly how a lot of games are done now, the only difference is Nintendo now requires it be explicitly stated. They're still a physical cart.

    • It's never a physical cart. Only question is is it a code or is it built into the console? And that's already been confirmed, it's a code.

You don't have the $$$, right?

      • -1

What a dumb thing to say.

        • +1

Nah. It isn't. If morediscount can't afford it then that's what it is. Other people spend their 1k for the console, accessories, games and enjoy it and enjoy it because it's not such a big deal. …While morediscount also purchased the Switch 2 in a roundabout way, but for his landlord with his weekly rent. Now THATS dead money.

Not having a go at morediscount, just what it is.

          • @kaybrr: Yes, it is. You're justifying $89 for a 8 years old game by saying you don't have money.
FFS it wasn't even this expensive when it was launched back in 2017.
            Don't be a nintendo shill.

            • @Lovek: Times have changed, prices have gone up. What can I say, it's not 2017 anymore Dorothy

              • -1

@kaybrr: LMAO.. the irony. Saying it's not 2017 anymore while taking about a game that came out in 2017.

    • -2

You can NOT beat Nintendo games for the fun factor.

    • Which console or PC were you playing Cyberpunk on in 2015?

      • -1

BOTW 2017. Not exactly 10 but it's still 8 years old game.

  • -6

Wait… Isn't BOTW like more than 8 years old now? Why is it selling for $89 a deal?

    • +4

      How is this down voted?

It's the norm with Nintendo, sure…but it's a (profanity) Wii U game for almost triple digits. That's an awful precedent.

      • +2

They will downvote anything negative you say about Nintendo.

        • +1

You're not wrong. I once said I played BotW for 20 odd hours on here right, had a good time with it, thought the story was pretty mid, and then I moved on with my day. Went out of my way to emphasize what a fun 20 odd hours it was though.

Down voted into oblivion from memory

  • Do you think EBGames will price match? I know they have some strict conditions but do they normally price match online prices?

    • +2

Only with a store that is within the same shopping centre.

      • Which really sucks when you have no other shops in the shopping centre but several other shops within a short walk outside of the shopping centre.

        • Try matching Big W.

When I went match, all they needed was the screen opened to Big W and was in stock.

    • I think people have just shared bad stories. I've been to dozens of EBs over the years and no one's ever given me any grief over price matching games. I think if you're past their override threshold there might be an issue but in my experience they just hit the button and knock the price down, never been grilled on being a local store or even being in stock

  • +1

The fact that you can't even question the price of a 8 years old game here is the reason why we have $100+ games now. What a bunch of man-babies.

    • +1

yaa its gamers like this that I hate..they are the reason why these companies get away with high prices..

    • It is only if you don't own the original game. Miyamoto is known to have a stance on never discounting the work that the developers do.

If you own the original game, then it is a cheap upgrade via the eShop.

I don't agree with his stance, but it is his company basically to dictate what pricing should be put into place.

  • Commbank yello users, make sure to check your cashback offers just in case, there's a $10 back for $50 spend on my end though my mother didn't want any game but mario kart so it'll prob go to waste for me.

  • Amazon has priced matched!!

    • Haven't price match every game though! :(

Cyberpunk and TOTK are just 2 I checked

      • Cyberpunk still says $114 for me

        • Sorry, meant to say they were 2 games I checked that haven't had their prices lowered

          • @Obake: I price matched at JB. They didn't question the "coming soon" on Big W's website.

      • Sorry, I meant Mario Kart World.

  • Goddamn still can't buy Cyberpunk online, wanna use that sweet sweet 10 dollar voucher.

Got Split Fiction for 49 delivered at Target with the 10 off and OnePass delivery, but they don't have Cyberpunk :'(

  • Had an email from Target saying I still had a $10 voucher to use. Used it on Mario Kart World for $84, free delivery. Winning!!

  • Already played both Zeldas at 4k 60fps with emulation years ago (bought both). It's a pity their hardware has lagged so far behind for so long. Don't see why the same games (8+ years old for the first one!) would be worth more now that they've finally released a capable console.

  • Sanity still haven't shipped my console (or at least haven't bothered to tell me they have) so part of me is okay with Cyberpunk still not being purchasable, but what the hell is happening there? Want to use the code for a tenner off before the sale ends, you buggers!

Don't make me go to JB, price match, and make another Perks account!

    • Please do share back if you actually get yours from Sanity. I have my doubts

      • They said this on June 3, but haven't heard anything since. If I hear nothing by midday tomorrow I'll probably call or something.

        Hi Dylan,

        Thank you for your email.

This will be shipped on the release date to the best of my knowledge we haven't been informed otherwise.

    • and make another Perks account!

How are peeps make another perks account without another mobile number? What am I missing lol

What’s happing with sanity is unfortunate :(

      • +1

You can do 2 per number (used to be 3), and I have a lot of numbers…plus a lot of people who don't give a shit about a ten buck code (or two) who are willing to lend a number.

If I haven't made 100 accounts, I'd be very goddamn close.

And what's happening is inSanity heh heh, heh.
