What's the sizing like? True to size or need to go up/down half a size for example.
Hush Puppies is true to size for me. UK10 across many shoes from them.
Yes! Happened to me was quite uncomfortable under foot as it rolled up. Anyways I bought the wrong size so was the perfect excuse to return and rebuy 😝
Daily user of these shoes … been using them for years, buy them when on sale at Amazon. My biggest gripe is that the sole of the heel only lasts 3-5 months, is that normal?
How many dollars per year are you spending on these shoes?
We get it, you have and like RMs.
They are not for everyone for various reasons. Posting in every boot thread doesn't change that.
You forgot to mention that RMW have gone downhill in quality and aren't all made in Australia. Australiana for mugs
I have and like boots, RM's are just the most discussed here.
Would it make you feel better if I recommended a Grant Stone Chelsea?
This is a reasonable question, given that heels for the commenter are lasting < 6 months.
I own a pair of RMs and pay up $60 a year to get the heels re-rubbered @ $65 for a pair, or $125 if I am not careful and wear into the block.
I smell a rat. You’ve been wearing them for years, but you go through, on average, 3 pairs a year. So you’re currently on a minimum of your 6th pair after a lowest possible interpretation of “years” being 2 years.
Before planned obsolescence and marketing
I have this issue too. I own RMs and found that i had to get the topy sole replaced almost as frequently as i wear out the sole of these shoes. These on sale are cheaper than getting protective sole replacements on RMs so i still stick with these.
Good value for the $ I just find RM’s are so big and chunky for daily use.
I also found the heels last few months. This isn't normal. Should last 1.5 years.
Also, leather scratches easily…
This or Chelsea?
Or Hanger…too many choices!
Hanger looks a little nicer aesthetically
Edit: ordered hanger in black. Thanks op
the cognac colour is nice. Would these fit wide-footed people like myself (usually wear 2E sizes)
I bought both colors and going to return the Chelsea I bought couple days ago
Why? This one better quality?
Yes I’d like to know why
I can’t tell the difference between this shoe and Chelsea? Or maybe I need to head to sleep lol
How does this look better quality? they both look the same to me. the fake goodyear welt isnt fooling anyone.
They're good for kicking some cables underneath office desks
Better watch out on those cables. These boots would last longer by another week or 2 longer if you can keep your feet still.
Anyone know if or what the warranty is on these?
12 Months / 2,400,000 Steps which ever happens first*
based on 10,000 steps a day @ 240 office days a year
Did i have to show them a log book or do they have a pedometer built in.
A little mark is left on the sole with every step so no further logging is required.
Do you have any more info of the sizing? Last time I ordered one of these deals I got an extra wide so while the length could of been right they didn't hold my feet so a bit wary.
I bought the Chelsea boots from another deal, received yesterday and indeed it says Extra wide on the sole. I wear Euro size 45 2E ASICS for running and would say the Chelsea "Extra wide" is a bit narrower though it wraps toebox just fine.
In the market for boots. Can't afford RMW. My co-pilot (Co-pilot) suggests Aquila. Any experiences?
Bought Aquila 2.5 years ago, they look much better than HP, and even RMV IMO, and fit quite nicely. I'd recommend.
My last pair were pretty shit. Paid $150 on sale and barely lasted 4 months. Inside was super soft and wore out.
Wouldn't buy again.
Thanks!
Ordered a pair to replace my Julius Marlow Men's Kick Chelsea Boot.
The Julius Marlow Men's Kick Chelsea Boot are about 10 months old and are wearing well. I wear them about 3 days a week and walk about 3-4 kms a day outside.
So have probably done 500kms in them.
I will give an update and comparison when I get mine.
$90 is cheaper than resoling or adding topy and polishing my Loakes.
is there a simple guide to pick and chose boots from? I get that different styles such as chelsea/ wisconsin and others originated from different places and times and history behind them may be … for someone that does white collar office job, what does matters though? 🤷♂️
Once again only for certain sizes!
I took the advice of the OzB mob and went down a 1/2 size compared to the sizing chart for HP - and they seem a good fit with normal thickness socks. Heel doesn't slip, just a touch of a pinch on the wide part of my pinkie toe. Hoping it will wear in nicely and that will disappear.
Good shoes, quite comfy for daily use, but expect the brown sticker at the back heel to peel off after a few weeks. Yes, it's just a sticker.
