In my experience, most people don't use smart watch features much. They mainly just use the fitness/health tracking, like step counters, heart rate, work out tracking, etc. So just make sure the watch has accurate health tracking. There is a guy on YouTube that tests them.

I'd say long. Apple watch seems to be 24hr, my Samsung Watch 5 Pro get's closer to 72hrs

Depends what you want it for. It's not good at a lot of things, like sleep tracking, GPS and heart rate.
