Successors to the Clear OG and Celestee respectively, an updated design built out from the Bathys enclosure. At these prices, it puts them in solid contention with other deals on offer at the moment.

  • Vs hifiman Arya?
I was tempted to get the Arya's
Mainly listen to vocal heavy music (think Whitney Houston etc) and would like the soundstage to be great for video gaming.

Probably the Arya Stealth for mine (just) but high register vocals may be a little too harsh. Focal would probably be better for vocals and imaging, Arya for soundstage width and resolution.

Tonally, the Arya would be brighter, but you also have options just above these two that are on sale via Taobao.

Outside of that, you can try importing the HIFIMAN HE6SE v2 open box or refurbished via HIFIMAN's US store, or go even further for the XK-Audio Serene on Taobao, or you can wait for the Arya Unveiled to get a price cut at some point in the future.

I'm currently mulling through most of these options myself.

I own Arya's, and focal clears.
Honestly you couldn't go wrong with either. they will both suit your music taste. I love my focals, and especially the build quality (headband not so much).
The Arya's though would suit your preference more. Especially for gaming and hearing foot steps.

Sadly the Arya's have build quality issues. I've owned two sets… one died after a year; the other i just bought this weak and it was DOA. Both with driver failure.
Also the included cable is truly shit. it would be disappointing on a $150 headphone, not a 850 one.
I did like them so much that I bought them twice and choice to RMA the 2nd set rather than a full refund. For 850$ these things sound 90% as good as some of the best sounding headphones i've heard.

Thanks to both yourself and at Jasswolf.
I am worried about build quality issues which makes me tilt to these are little more but I wonder if I should get the Arya's from amazon as their returns are really good in case of faults.

        • Agreed, amazons return policy is awesome. was really easy to fill out the form and paid nothing to post my defective pair back to them the other day.
If you do get the Arya's, treat them extremely carefully. the internals are extremely delicate, if you ever open one up and look inside (what I do not recommend). also buy a longer cable.
          and enjoy

  • Focal support = non existent

Minidisc is very trustworthy though, especially if you live in Sydney and can physically deal with the store there would be zero worries about honouring warranties.

  • How does the Hadenys compare to the clear OG?
