Cheap Coffee Scales

Hi all, decided to buy a new grinder and a Hario switch for my morning coffees.

Can anyone recommend me a cheap coffee scale? I heard the Hario one isn’t that good. Anything below $50 is fine but if I can lower that to $20-$30 that would be perfect.

    • Thanks! Tried this one out. Never ordered from aliexpress before, hopefully it'll turn out alright.

What do you mean by not that good?

I have a high cost Japanese scale and a cheap Amazon/Ali scale and they both come within 0.1 gram of each other. The cheap one takes a little longer to measure the weight, but only by fractions of a second.

What is it you are looking for?

In terms of price/performance, most people would say that the Hario pourover coffee scale isn't worth it, especially when compared to other scales in its price range.

    • Do you have a link to the Amazon one you have?

  • I got this one. Comes with a 50g weight that you can use to calibrate it (if you think it's not calibrated). Been using about 9 months with no problem. Takes 2 AA batteries (I think it came with batteries).

  • I got a cheap one off eBay years ago. It's quite accurate, I checked it using water measured from a plastic syringe. The lower capacity ones are more accurate. Don't go for one that does 5kg, stick to the 200g or less models.

  • Any digital scales will be fine eg random
