This one produces less operating noise. You can also easily disconnect the 4g modem if you don't want it sending all your data to Resmed so they can sell it.
In some respects, they’re all fancy air pumps. The best one is the one you have or the one you can afford.
Saying that, the Resmed machines are the premium option, and will last for years. I’d buy the latest model as default and not look at it again for years.
I trialled the 11 and ended up with the 10. Does the same job a bit cheaper. Rotary dial instead of touch, hose swivels. Apparently the 11 might have slightly better algorithm for ramping up and down etc but I don't know how true it is. All I know is I'm down to .5 AHI from 50 and sleep like a baby.
@AudaciousMoose: Rotary dials will always outlast touch pads. It's why hotel/motel prefer rotary dial /physical button microwave.
I went for a 10 instead of the 11 when I bought mine, with price not being a factor (got mine at cost through staff).
11 has app support where you can change settings - you really set this thing once and it auto adjusts.
And yes read reviews about the water compartment being smaller/fiddly to fill up.
@krisspy: S11 is supposed to have the same motor as the air mini and many believe it wont last as long.

I'm interested in getting the mini for daily use, not sure how good the humidity filter for it is going to be.
it's actually humidity trap filter from your own breath. So recirculating/reuse humidity compared to keep adding humidity from water like the normal one. And the filter only last max 2 months expert said.
Unless it has changed, recommended to replace monthly.
I have the 11, the travel bag is the same as 10.
I do FIFO and have no issues packing it up every week.
It fits inside the highsierra backpack perfectly, pretty convenient.
Thought about getting the mini, but decided against it.
Should be fine for daily use - has the same motor as the AS11. Only issue may be detailed reporting to your Sleep Doc (if you do this) - it doesn't have an SD card & needs to go via an app to Resemed & your Doc needs to pull that data from Resmed.
I stopped using the humidifier on my AS10 when it got too hard to refill the tray every night - occaisonally wake up a little dry, but got used to it.
If you're looking, I recently bought an Airmini here & this battery & cable for travelling. Get ~3 to 4 nights out of one charge.
Also got this bag to store everything in.
Airmini is great. No issues. Just get used to waking up with a dry mouth (even with the humidity discs) but totally fine. Great device!
Getting info from them was like pulling hens teeth on the phone. Eventually, and i mean eventually, they admitted it provides less humidification than the humidifier on the S9, 10 or 11. There are two types of humidification disks and they last a month, it depends on your needs.
You can't test it with an existing S9, 10 or 11 machine as the mask which uses them is only for the air mini unless you can find an unofficial adapter or bodge one. The mask is different to the one for standard machines as it needs the humidification pill part.
I had the 10 with the humidifier off for many years. All good until the unit was suggesting that the motor could fail soon (after 8 years of use). Then got the 11 which is a good change and I can monitor the sleep report, which wasn't available on the 10 after 3g shut down. 11 is good and worth the money over a 10 IMHO.
I also got the travel for portability, trips, camping etc. it's a weird unit. Loud hose pressure noise. Does the job but I wouldn't use it for a regular solution. 11 is by far the best outcome.
Most machines continue for years after that message.
I got a sleep apnoea diagnoasis last year, but didnt actually get a CPAP sorted out. Was in the process of moving and life got in the way.
from memory the GP said to go back to the place that ran the test for me and they will help out with getting one.
Is there any reason I dont just buy one online? I understand the simple answer is just go to the place and get them to help but if I can just grab the machine online (presumeably at a pretty signficant discount) why wouldnt I?
As far as I know, you will be prescribed with a pressure setting/range. Most machines are auto and the parameters are pretty standard. You can still go ahead and purchase and have your prescribed settings applied
I agree about the machine, but you need to try out different mask types and brands to see which one works for you. I believe that this can only be done at sleep clinics. If you get the wrong mask, it would be uncomfortable and deter you from using it.
true, a lot of the retailers will let you trial masks but best done in clinic as they can measure leakage
It's the masks, they cost like 150-200 each and you really gotta try which one is best for you. If you buy direct from resmed they give you 30 days to try all the masks (2 at a time but you can keep swapping).
If you know someone that works there they have family and friends discount. Airsense 10 comes to about $870 including a mask.
They would have given you a letter of your CPAP study which should be your prescription. Take that with you to the CPAP provider you choose.
If you don't have it, just contact them for another.
I had a strange entry to the CPAP world - a doctor friend of mine diagnosed me with central apnea so I started looking for a CPAP - after about a week of looking, I pounced on an unused Autoset 10 with heaps of accessories (3 diff masks) for $100 on marketplace. Did some tutorials online and set it up and then my doctor mate told me the basic Autoset 10 wouldn't address my central apnea and that I needed an ASV device - so I found a virtually brand new Aircurve 10 ASV on marketplace advertised for $1750 - he sold them so I asked for a trade in, on my Autoset 10 an he offered $500 off - after some haggling he took $1000 change over
My life hasnt been the same since ive been using my amazing Aircurve 10 ASV - remember I entered the CPAP world with terrifying AHI's of 30 plus (I did a 38 one night!!) so its radically improved my quality of life. I need the full face mask because often my sinus/nasal problems mean I'm a mouth breather but I use gel in my mouth to stop my moth drying out - so may i recommend to you all to strongly consider one because my life is so much better now. No tiredness, or lethargy anymore - much more energy - they're an amazing device
My AHI during my sleep study was 80 lol. Have been using the Airsense 10 for a few months now and able to sleep so much better. I had been using the F40 full face mask for a couple of months because I thought I always breath through my mouth since I have nonallergic rhinitis for years… But after trying the nasal pillow I honestly could not go back. The cpap treatment and the humidifier actually helps a lot with me breath through my nose and I no long breath through mouth at night, although I still use mouth tapes for insurance. I would highly recommend anyone to try a nasal pillow mask.
AHI of 60 here. Initially went with full face because of mouth breathing, but the mouth driness dries me absolutely insane.
Switched to N30i nasal pillow and mouth tape, works like wonder. Although considering getting a chin strap since the daily mouth tapes seems a bit wasteful.
What brand of gel do you use? I tried one, but it did not do anything.
try oracoat xylimelts. they're a like a tablet that sticks to your gums, they work a treat for me!

I bought the airsense 10 with the F20 mask and for a week it was heaven. But my nose has started to get congested with the pressure from the device so then I end up mouth breathing and the cpap completely destroys my throat as it's ramming air from my nose and leaking out my mouth. I wake up with so dry throat that it has blood in the morning. Haven't been using my cpap since
Gonna try nose pillows and a chin/mouth strap, hopefully this works better.
Make sure that your mask isn't leaking, I have had high pressure and difficulty breathing when the mask leaks too much. This can be hard with a full face mask since the shape of them makes it hard to get a perfect seal and they have to be pretty tight.
I got a P10 mask now and I get lower pressures from that than my old full face mask (F40). I think the more direct air straight to the nose helps, but also can be uncomfortable.
Last, I believe there is a humidity setting in the machine, you can try playing with that (beware of rain out) or try increasing tube temperature so the air holds more water.
I've played around with the temps and humidity levels and I always end up mouth breathing. Doesn't help that if I open my mouth just a little bit then it's all leaking.
I am going to try force my mouth shut and switch to a nose pillow.
Try the resmed N30i mask and mouth tape.
You may need to see a technician at a sleep clinic, they helped me with similar issues. Also, are you seeing a respiratory/sleep physician? They can look at your readings and adjust the pressure. This is important, and you should go back to using the CPAP.
Also, have a look at this guy's youtube channel. I think he gives good info on all things CPAP.
I ended up ordering a Airsense 11 with Airtouch n30 mask for $1,479.60 I wanted to go in store but they wouldn't match it and said that it wouldn't let me checkout for that price
