Instant ramen fried with vegetable or seed oils at the factory and those can go rancid.
Yes. They can smell stale when off. Also they are doused in preservatives out of the factory which is why when the noodles are half cooked, I drain the water, and refill with fresh kettle boiled water then add seasoning. I am sure everyone has their methods.
The oil packets (in some noodle flavors) can also go bad…but we are talking about years of badly stored (sun, heat) packets.
For me… Drain, refill, drain, refill and then add seasoning
you made instant noodles hard
If there is no liquid or oil in the packet, should be all good.
I have had these noodles over 2 years past the best before date. Didn't notice any difference.
Shin Ramyun Ramen was an Egyptian ruler in 1960 BC . His sarcophagus was packed with these for the after life.
Safe to eat.???? Better ask him or just live dangerously with rancid oils.
YMMV but his was accurate,
Also spotted the 5 pack of Shin Ramyun reduced to $1.99 at Kmall09 in Eastwood earlier today. Expiry date was around mid July 2025 in the instant noodle aisle too.
1.90 at the s'mart where the aldi was, or 7.80 for the box of 8 (ie 40 packets). 24 july expiry
I want the black one..

Probably rarely on special.
Thats what they say…
