Cheapest DOT 4 brake fluid I have been able to find in store. Appears to be on clearance, so store stock may vary.

Not sure if this is a further reduction of Auto stock at Big W, clearly the days of being able to service your car buying oil filters, brake pads, car battery and oil seem long gone.

I’m led to believe it can also be used as Blinker Fluid substitute in a pinch (subject to full blinker fluid flush before use).

  • Gotta be the cheapest DOT4 I've ever seen! Good find.

  • Probably can get it with 10% Price Beat at Bunnings.

    • Don't think they beat clearance items.

  • Damn cheap! Think I paid this price 10 years ago.

I can't remember if it's brake fluid, but there's one of them that meets the same standard as AT fluid. So if you want to do a transmission flush, you could get 10 bottles of this instead of a 5L bottle @ $70

Brake fluid is very specific. I beleive you may have confused it with power steering fluid.

Either way, for sake of $15, Id rather the correct fluid than pay for a new tranny

      • Yep that's the one

  • they had other fluids and oils on clearance

  • Good find.

Never know what to do what old brake fluid… Might of drank some, explains the jitters.

  • fluid is dyed green that's why it was cheap. It make you think the brake fluid is bad

    • Maybe less emphasis on the dirty fluid & test the brake for spongy-feel: indication of absorbed moisture by brake fluid system &/or age? I've helped friends with cars that are 10+ years old with original brake-fluid & dirty but brake feel solid: left it alone.

    • No it's cheap because they are clearing out valvoline products AFAIK.

To test brake fluid you can use a conductivity meter. More accurate than just looking at it's colour but I guess it doesn't help that it's green if you use colour to gauge quality
