Just a reminder, this starts at 6PM tonight. OP states this but I’m sure many will brush past it.

Also looks like there is no cap currently on 12/13% rate so if doing a purchase over $1250 ($1154 for shopback + members) then better off doing now.

    • Is $150 cap per SB account or TGG order/transaction?

    • +1

Also, "Any Gift Card or Voucher redemption" is without cashback.

Can we clarify if the whole amount is rejected or only the proportion paid by gift cards?

      • Also looking for this. I have a good guys gift card to spend

  • +3

Does this work with the websites automated pricebeat popup? Would make the item im looking at cheaper than TGGC price after cashback.

    • This is what I want to know

    • -4

No, you won't get cash back if you use the price beat function. Read the exclusions list again.

      • Yeah i get that. It sometimes offers it automatically though not user initiated. I dont doubt you are right though its just some other website's similar situation works.

      • +2

No, you are wrong. You don't get cashback on the discounted portion between TGG's price and the price-beat price (i.e. the bit that you don't pay). You still get cashback on the amount you actually pay.

    • +1

Topcashback will still give you the 4% when using price beat

    • +4

      In my experience yes.

When it first tracks the "Purchase Amount" shows up as the ticketed price excluding GST and later gets adjusted to remove the price beat discount amount.

      • Is that applied to the case you click price beat button and price automatic reduced?

        • +1

Maybe @gotyourback can clarify for us because I'm wondering about this too.

        • +3

I probably didn't explain that very well. Hopefully this makes more sense.

Say there is a $500 item and hitting the price beat button brought it down to $420.

It will initially track based on the $500 price and then later it gets adjusted to reflect that you only paid $420.

          Initial tracking After adjustment
"Purchase Amount" excluding GST $454.55 $381.82
          17% Cashback $77.27 $64.91
          10% Westpac Bonus $45.46 $38.18

I don't know why it works this way, but I assume it's just some limitation in the system that The Good Guys uses to automatically report the purchase to Shopback.

          • @HomeAlone: Ok thanks. So using that function won't invalidate your cashback? The T&Cs are basically saying you won't get cashback on the discounted amount (which goes without saying anyway).

            • +1

@jbw87: In my experience it has not invalidated cashback.

Like many T&Cs on Shopback it's just poorly worded in a way that creates confusion.

              • @HomeAlone: Yeah for sure. Your explanation makes sense. Thanks

            • @jbw87: I am worried too. It said “Any Price Beat discount amounts or promo code discount amounts that have been applied to the order”

          • @HomeAlone: Thanks HomeAlone. Really appreciate you jumping in here. Now do i have the courage to buy the XE75 for $445 at TGGC or this way $519 before cashbacks. :D

          • @HomeAlone: Do you think it's similar if we use a gift card?

          • @HomeAlone: When did your cashback adjust?

I did one a couple of weeks ago and it still hasn't adjusted.

Edit: actually just checked it's adjusted now

  • +2

So dyson products are included in this cashback?

  • +1

Are switch 2 games included? The terms just exclude the console.

And what about pre orders? Not excluded in the terms so should be included?

  • +3

Since The Good Guys only give cashback on the pre-GST price the actual rates are 15.45% and 9.09%

  • 10% westpac bonus cashback ends 5:59pm today. Just before the 12-17% boost at 6pm.

    • +1

Says 11:59pm for Westpac on my SB app?

      • Ok..my app says the 12%+10% westpac bonus ends 5:59. I guess it will be replaced with the 17% but i don't see the confirmation of an additional 10% westpac bonus in my app to go with the 17%?

      • Says 11:59pm for me too.

      • ah, ok i see it now

    • Mine is showing :
      “Complete between 9 June 2025 12:00 am AEST - 9 June 2025 11:59pm AEST”

  • so if you click price beat price the cash back will void?

    • apparently it should be fine, see here, it just means that you get the cashback on the reduced price not the original price and it's weirdly worded

  • +1

I'm not currently a Westpac customer but looking to buy a big ticket item so it might be worth joining. Any suggestions on the quickest way to get the Westpac bonus if you aren't a customer currently?

    • +2

apply for a transaction account, it'll probably instantly open (does for existing customers, unsure for new, but likely given that it's not a credit product), you can add the card immediately to apple pay and get the card details via the westpac app without waiting for a physical card to arrive

note that I did this recently (I am pre-existing, but didn't want to use my existing credit card as I'm likely closing it shortly) and set up my new card (added details manually in shopback, showed up as apple pay linked) and a recent westpac bonus has failed to track (reported to shopback on the weekend, has not yet been responded to) so YMMV

      • Do you need to pay with the linked Westpac account, or just have a linked account?

        • +1

Gotta pay with the linked account

          • @Rick Sanchez: got to pay via apple pay with the linked account in at least some cases - however the setup instructions don't mention it so maybe that's only sometimes

            • +1

@ely: Interesting, I see that Westpac offers rewards via applepay that are different to those just via westpac card.

For this deal, I used a Westpac card that was linked to the SB account, instead of applepay (which also had the westpac card on it). Yet to track, but early days.

              • +1

@Sgav89: The Westpac bonus for this wasn't for a linked ApplePay bonus. So you should be okay.

                • @CVonC: You're correct. it tracked. phew. Sometimes feels like heart surgery getting the stars to align!

  • How do I use the Westpac cashback? Do I just pay with a Westpac card?

    • Pretty sure you need to link your card in the ShopBack app, then it comes up as an option for you to gain additional bank targeted cash back.

    • +1

      info here

  • If I use a gift card, wonder if this will be completely invalidated or if that portion alone will be invalidated.

  • $499 bambino plus ordered at 6.10pm, using a westpac card (linked to SB account).

$77.12 tracked within a few minutes, no 10% westpac tracking yet.

    • Westpac 10% has now tracked

  • +1

Purchased through the shopback app for the first time. Westpac lounge 10% + 17% TGG seem to have triggered. Took screenshots of each step in case there is an issue.

    Update: Nice! Item was TP-Link X75 3pack, $519 - $86.39 - $50 = $382.61. The cashbacks already appear in the shopback app right away.

    • Did you click price beat, I am still a bit hesitated to click that option considering it’s only $10 cheaper than the listing price and I don’t wanna end up losing the whole Cashback

      • Worked for me but obviously tracking =/= final confirmation

      • $40 cheaper on my screen, but i cant get the order to process.

        • Are you on an Android? the pay with debit card never works for me. Had to use partners Apple phone + her SB account. Had to remove Westpac card from my account then add it to hers, as it can only be linked to one at a time.

          • +1

@Sgav89: Yep. No Apple in this household. How pathetic TGG web team must be to not ensure a payment journeys work.

      • I did yep, that took the price from $559 down to $519

    • Trying to do the same but the TGG site just fails at 3DSecure payment verification. Tried several times. Unbelievable.

      • Known issue with Android, it sucks, try Apple if you can

      • Same. Anyone figure this one out?

        • +1

          Try this:

I opened chrome broswer on my phone, logged into shopback via browser (NOT sb app), then clicked through onto TGG website. It allowed me then complete the purchase using westpac debit card.

I opted for pickup so i can easily cancel for refund if things go pear shaped. BUT within 5mins i have received tracking on SB for both main and westpac. So…. so far, so good.

  • Mine tracked at $50 when it should have been over $100…

    • Nevermind - that was the Westpac bonus!

  • Is this only available for a single purchase or will this apply on more than one purchase? I am planning to purchase two items totalling $800+. So looking to maximise the cashback.

    Thanks!

  • Cant check out for some reason. It always gave me "opps can't find the page". The payment failed

Any way to get around this?

    • Same problem for me. What a bunch of clowns.

    • Same

    • Known issue with Android, it sucks, try Apple if you can. Had to use partners Apple phone + her SB account. Had to remove Westpac card from my account then add it to hers, as it can only be linked to one at a time.

      • No can do. :(

        • I ended up just doing it on Edge desktop browser which I never use so no ad blockers plugins installed. Tracked instantly with both cash backs calculated correctly.

Tried your method and it worked. Tracked within minutes. Thanks a lot 👍

  • +1

Cashback tracked in 10 mins. All good.

  • Is anyone have trouble checking out with card payment? It keeps prompting me about my paypal details even though i'm selecting card payment.

    • yeh i had same issue i used edge app sign in shopback site (Not Shopback app) and processed payment and receiveda cashback confirmation

  • +1

Does anyone know if you can make multiple purchases/transactions?

    • Have the same question. Have you tried?

    • +1

Doesn't really help you now unfortunately.. but FYI perhaps in future.

I FOMOed and ended up making 2 transactions at around 9:55pm just before the time ended. Took a risk on the 2nd one.

Just got tracking for them both SB + Westpac!

  • Does the payment have to be on a westpac card for the westpac bonus?

    • Yes, to be safe probably have in your "manage payment method" in shopback

    • Yep, you have to pay with the same westpac card linked as a payment method in your account.
