PreSonus Eris 3.5BT Bluetooth Studio Monitors (Gen 2). These are a very good pair of active monitors and have bluetooth as a bonus (that's how I see it). If you want a "really good" set of stereo speakers for your computer, I highly recommend these to you.

Some people may complain about these bottoming out at 80hz and cite needing more bass, but my personal opinion is that 80hz should be enough for a pair of computer speakers, and you could provision a subwoofer if desired. In my case I have a couple of unused subwoofers in the garage and I'll get one of them to pair with these and set the crossover to 80hz.

In either case, there may be another el cheapo speaker that goes down to 70hz but the clarity offered by this set will be unmatched (again, IMO)! You are welcome to read the countless reviews on the internet and make up your own mind. I believe the price is not too far from ATL.

  • Is this better than edifier book shelf speaker

    • +1

Depends on which specific model you're comparing it with, but in general presonus is on a higher level playing field than the likes of edifier.

So in short, yes, this will be better than an edifier.

      • It's probably would be MR3 or M60 for this price point.

      Eris 3.5BT page:

Power Saver mode (engages after 40 minutes)

I don't think Edifier has this. automatic on and off sounds convenient to me.

i use these to play sound for my dumb 60" soniqu tv in the lounge. successfully connected via firestick via bluetooth. when i use the firestick remote it turns the tv on and off and also adjusts volume. the remote that comes with the tv sucks. it does a good enough job. alott better than the tv sound. and the speakers sound awesome for music, very crisp, never heard such clarity before.. but i normally don't buy good speakers so. really like them. not perfect for tv though, think i need a proper separate sub for the base. the base it outputs feels abit hollow. i think i bought this speaker for around $180 few years ago. i liked it so much for playing music from my pc that i bought another for the lounge tv. it shines with music though. might want the 4.5bt if you like better quality base maybe, idk i havent tried it but from the reviews…

I dont have these but have the Edifier Mr4 and added the Presonus sub to them. Was an absolute game changer. Definitely grab yourself a sub.

This is true, because the subwoofer will cover the frequency range under 80hz, which you would have otherwise missed out on. An even better deal might be to get a good quality used velodyne from the marketplace, which might cost just as much as a new presonus sub, but will go much deeper, and can punch much cleaner and harder.

For more bass it's better to get a subwoofer with this model instead of getting 4.5bt.

  • Even though these are cheap and "worth the money", I'd recommend the 5" instead. They'd go a lot further for the extra.
