Oh please don't start this trend lol
I have to say… I was a bit shocked that Sakatas are made in Cambodia…
Was that recently changed? pretty sure wasnt made there 19 years ago
The Woolies comes in a a handy tray within the package.
The Coles ones just ‘gushes out’ upon opening, messy.
I find the Woolies ones the nicest tasting and they're only ones that are like proper traditional crackers with very thin flaky layers similar to puff pastry.
The Coles and Aldi ones are quite bland in comparison and seem made with cheap ingredients.
Right on! I think so too'
Didn't know they were coming from China though, it's crazy we are importing food items like this and even crazier they are this cheap with all the transport and shipping cost involved.
Come on Coles and Aldi, I'm sure your bakers can make yours more flaky.
Yup, all the rice crackers are chinese/cambodian/thai, except the two of the aldi damora. Buying in bulk to support.
In the future everything will be made in India.
even australians…
They'll be renamed "Cuttacks"
What's with the negs? OZbargainers not keen to support our local economy, agriculture and workers, and reduce unnecessary shipping of plastic, air and processed rice?
Phewee!
Sometimes you can't tell what the negs are for haha
i think "changing the world" isnt going to occur with $1 crackers…
Woolies one tastes way much better.
The difference is the Chinese melamine.
Products at eye level are always more expensive than the ones at the bottom.
lmao this is so true, also products near the checkout exit also tend to be more expensive… they always put the most profitable products where it's easy for most people to see
Australian made palm oil! Nice. Where do they grow the palms for it I wonder? The famous QLD palm oil I take it.
Clive Palmer…
Palmer oil?
The packaging says 90% Australian ingredients - the Palm oil would be part of the other 10%
"at least 90% Australian ingredients" and yet 14.2% fat - does not compute. There are no other butters or oils in the ingredients.
Thanks @ilove for pointing this out. I had never even thought to look at that detail. I usually buy Woolworths but will try the Coles ones as I would much rather support an Aussie made product. Crazy how they both sell for the same price with such differences in where they are made.

When I last tried these during covid due to the shortages, I found they are more burnt than Sao, to a point where it feels like it is just an overcooked version of Sao.
I am not sure what the acrylamide levels are in these but when I used to eat them, I would get that uneasy feeling about them.
Made in Australia, Sao alternative
