What else is essential

  • Customers are able to nominate a later connection date and receive cashback provided you remain a customer for at least 90 days after placing your NBN order.
  • Engaging with plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, VPNs, and browsers such as Brave may prevent your order from tracking.
  • You must always return to TopCashback and click the pink cashback button through to the retailer's website for each new transaction. Ensure the TopCashback link is the last one used to visit the retailer's website prior to completing your purchase.
  • Any accounts that engage in fraudulent orders/activities to game/cheat the cashback system will be banned and cashback forfeited.

Good to know

  • Most retailers calculate cashback based on purchase amount excluding GST, other taxes, and delivery fees. Your cashback may report lower than expected due to this.
  • If an order is cancelled / returned / exchanged / modified, it will no longer be eligible for cashback and will be declined in your account.
  • To be eligible for cashback, all transactions must be completed solely & wholly online and must not be assisted/negotiated via phone/chat/email. Failure to do so will cause tracking to fail and/or have cashback declined.

    So the 100/20 is $75/m for 6m
    then $95/m

Assuming one churns after 6m, would make it $60/m.
Over 12m would work out to $77.50/m

  • Correct. The 100/20 plan works out to be the best value with cashback combined over the first 6 months, since $75 per month minus $15 ($90 divided over 6 months) would end up costing $60 per month, which is not bad for a decent NBN provider.

$60/m is the best value on the market now?

  • Existing customer here. Exetel churns existing customers to the max and also they want a month notice in advance if you want to leave.

Rather than saying "cancel now" (or subscribing to a new provider without cancelling) you tell them, don't renew after the next cycle and you confirm what date it is - they sent me an email with "Your Exetel service cancellation request for service number xx" and in the details:

Cancellation request received by Exetel: dd-mm-yyyy
Date your service will be cancelled: dd-mm-yyyy
Last billing day of your monthly access charge: dd-mm-yyyy

I then requested connection for new nbn provider the day before "Date your service will be cancelled".
Except for "losing that day" it didn't cost anything extra (besides the effort of calling them not to renew).

I switched to exetel via tcb but it didn’t track, raised ticket and now they say it will take 4-6 months for retailer to get back.

    • Same with me when I switched in March. Raised the issue 1/5, should have raised it immediately. Obviously still waiting for an update.

Signed up in April, 100/20 was $65.99 for 6M with $100 cashback. Haven’t had the cashback paid yet.

    • Me neither, didn't track. Thinking of giving up and just switching

      • +1

Mine did track but hasn’t been paid yet. Takes 22 weeks apparently. Did you report missing cashback?

        • Yep still processing

          • @liamisred: Try messaging TCB rep tightarse on Ozbargain

          • @liamisred: You raised it and told will take 4 months or more for a decision like others have been told?

    • Signed up in early Feb. Confirmed but still not payable yet….

  • long time customer have been very good no issues, communicate outages and even after the last nbn rate hikes I called and they have reduced the price of my plan. They have been a solid company to be with for the last 15 years.

    • My experience has been the opposite. Incorrect charging, not honouring retention discounts, customer service basically non-existent. Will be switching back to superloop for sure.

      • Unfortunately agreed here. The service itself is fine but I had called for a retention discount, it was applied then promptly a few months later price increased. Called, they didn't budget. Gave em my 30 days notice there and then

  • Avoid topcashback. Worst cashback site. My order is still not tracked after 5 months

    • Sorry to hear. I assumed you lodged a missing cashback claim?

If you did, TopCashback does not add the tracking manually unlike Cashrewards and ShopBack. You won't see any tracking. There is usually little communication during the waiting period. TopCashback will contact you if they need more info.

      • You can check on the progress of your claim or add further info in this link.
      • I suggest contacting TopCashback support in this link. You would expect a response within 48 hours.

From TopCashback: Why is it taking so long for you to process?

My Exetel purchase on 29th Nov 2024 was paid on 4th April 2025. Exetel seems to take a bit longer to pay than other retailers.

I've had a few missing cashback claims with TopCashback and they have all been paid. Hope your cashback will be paid soon.

      • Edit: Exetel purchase on 29th Nov was paid on 25th March, not 4th April.

I logged into my TopCashback account via Chrome on my mobile phone and proceeded to sign up to Exetel on the 100/20 plan.

Within approximately 5-10 minutes, my $90 cashback was tracked in my account.

Do not use Brave Browser as this appears to block the tracking. (also ensure no adblocking extensions are enabled if you have any)

Just noticed a boosted "Exclusive" cash back of $100 (instead of $90) for the 100/20 plan. Unsure when it started or will last til. Tracked nearly instantly on TopCashback.

    • Damn, should have waited a little longer haha
