$20 base price drop from a couple weeks ago, now down to $379. Code brings it down to $336.75. Excellent excellent price for a 27in 4k 120Hz monitor.

This is the non-USB C version. Mine came last week, 120Hz is so nice.

Remember to look into whether your employer has a Dell partnership, I used my 15% off code a couple weeks back which was better. Not stackable with DNCPAU11 though.

Tax time, cashback etc.

Got this from the last deal and was concerned about the 4K at 27”, but it’s brilliant. Great for office work

    • Good to know, I just ordered the USB C version this morning!

      • What’s the link / model number for the USB C version?

  • +11

Wow appears to be IPS as well. I would mention that in the title, killer price for those specs.

    • Do you have a link?

        • IPS? cant find that information on the webpage

            • +6

@abctoz: Look it's not fair you've been down voted to hell… Nothing wrong with prioritising fast response and refresh rates… But yeah have to remember different audiences. IPS and 4k matter to a lot of people.

@GuniGuGu: lots is wiredos here always been that way

I just tested and if you up the gamma and tweak the response setting almost can’t see the ghosting, captured with 60fps phone so looks ass

                https://streamable.com/70frrq

certainly no worse than my old 120hz monitor with lightboost, the panel has very fast response and that matters for competitive games

got 160ms human response, was always around 200 before

              • @GuniGuGu: They made the fatal error of commenting with a counter view on a tech post* on OzB.

*Applies to other fanboi brands and coffee beans and equipment

@Wilociraptor: Nah it's a va panel. Honestly not a great deal. Curved too.

    • No RGB either what are you gonna do man

      • +4

I got the rgb 27 qhd 240hz monitor obviously my tetris speed has increased come fight me on jstris

  • +3

if refresh rate isn't a requirement, which usually isn't for productivity related tasks, a much cheaper alternative: https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/monitors/27-33-inch/112344-pro-mp273u?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21605227090&gbraid=0AAAAADsuegPcQl3rh7If7-7j-oqO3z5M&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0qTCBhCmARIsAAj8C4azH2yz-PZoBmb-gDVCGbEMEj-7OLEoA4KElW6X-w-v-3FtpsCVF0aAoGpEALw_wcB

  • Is it worth upgrading from the 60hz one for PS5 gaming?

    • Probably not in terms of response times, but do you play games at 120 FPS on the PS5? Few would do it.

Probably save money for a future console and monitor/TV combo.

Cheap 27 4K, no reviews online though or youtube

Rolling the dice, need to replace the 10 year old 2715U

Will let you know how’s it looks next to the Dell 32 4K next week

  • How does this stack vs. this LG?

    https://www.lg.com/au/monitors/ultrawide/34wr50qk-b/

Was about to pull the trigger on it yesterday since shopback had 10% cashback and there's also a 50$ off your first 350$ purchase. So technically could have been had for like 220$ish with the promos.

Altho could not find anything on the website that was cheap/or remotely needed to get over 350.

    • VA panel so better contrast but worse colour accuracy.

  • +2

Miss when the previous models were just under $300. Was a great tax write off!

    • wym? $300+ cant be a tax write off?

  • +1

If this has faster response times, I’d be all on it! I’ll have to hold out until the hp omen 32q goes on sale again. Fingers crossed

  • How would this panel perform for photo editing? Replacing a 27” 5k imac and want similar colour accuracy. Any help?

    • +3

Bloody hell man, replacing a 5K for a 4K monitor in MacOS, you are in for a world of pain. Stick to 5K on MacOS.

      • are those third party softwares not a fix for scaling issues on mac?

        • Apps like Better Display is a band aid approach. Yes it does reduce blurriness vs stock Mac resolutions but no all of it. And you are wasting some of your graphics performance as it is upscaling and then downscaling to fit a non native resolution of your monitor. You can 2x scale the 4K so you will get screen realstate of a 1080P monitor and it will be perfectly clear but who wants that.

    • I am assuming with a Mac mini? Stepping back from 5k will be noticeable. Perhaps Dell wise the ultrasharp series might be a better option as colour calibrated in the factory and a better screen than this, if only 60hz. They also have a rather impressive built in dock compared with most monitors.
I have a U2723QE on an MBA and it’s more than acceptable.
The current model, U2725QE has thunderbolt.

The downside is they are three times the price of this.

There is also software that helps with the scaling issue you get

  • Placed my order, but 8bit panel + frc, is it gonna be a deal breaker? Currently using 10bit

    • is 10bit true 10 bit or is that 8bit with frc as well?

I think some of my monitors if they are 10bit they aren;t true 10bit. its confusing

  • +3

Using mine right now. Absolutely bargain at this price. Make sure your GPU can output 4k@120hz.

    • What is sRGB mode like?

  • +2

Is anybody using these with a Mac?

Personally, I'm in the hunt for a display (ideally two) that will be suited to a Mac Mini M4. The 120Hz refresh rate will be so much better than my current 60Hz (Samsung 27").

I know there are scaling issues with external monitors and Macs. I just wanted to ask which other specs in a monitor to look out for for the Mac Mini?

    • +3

Yes I'm using a macbook with this Dell monitor, fantastic display connected via USB-C to HDMI. These monitors are great!

      • That's great!

I have been going down a bit of a rabbit hole with the resolution/refresh rate output for 1-2 monitors and it gets quite complicated.

        From what I have gathered:

The Mac mini with the M4 chip supports the following video output configurations through its HDMI and three Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) ports:

         * Up to three displays:

            - Two displays with up to 6K resolution at 60Hz over Thunderbolt.
            - One display with up to 5K resolution at 60Hz over Thunderbolt or 4K resolution at 60Hz over HDMI.

        • Up to two displays:

          • One display with up to 5K resolution at 60Hz over Thunderbolt.
          • One display with up to 8K resolution at 60Hz or 4K resolution at 240Hz over Thunderbolt or HDMI.

The HDMI port supports HDMI 2.1, and the Thunderbolt 4 ports support native DisplayPort 1.4 output over USB-C. For optimal performance, connect the highest-resolution display first. Adapters may be needed for displays with non-matching connectors.

If you scroll down a tiny bit, 'Bjango' have a graph of monitors ideal for 'retina display' here:

        https://bjango.com/articles/macexternaldisplays/

Finally, if you go to the 'Dell' website on this (below) display for example, you will notice about a third down

"Works seamlessly with devices on macOS®[4]
Tested with devices on macOS, this Thunderbolt monitor with P3 colour
is your ideal companion for Mac® devices. "

Note that not all Dell displays have this.

  • noob here, is this monitor decent for casual gaming ?

    • +3

yes for "casual" gaming 120hz minimum is good and at least 2k res

  • +1

Anyone know if I can daisy chain this monitor?
I'm talking to my boss to get me a Dell Ultrasharp U2725QE for Graphics/3d work to work from home, but I wanna compliment my setup with a 2nd 4k monitor for myself being this one on offer. I just hate too many cables

    • +1

It only has a single DisplayPort port, so you'd need an MST hub.

  • +1

Just bought one of these 27 in 4K monitor with UBC C hub. the USB C port got damaged the first time I use it. the innter tongue of the port, that platic piece somehow peeled off a layer and I couldn't plug it in fully. I spent two days circling with Dell Basic support and no one has offered anything they would do to clam down a disappointing customer. I just filed a return request, such a faulty product. I have been plugging in and out of USC port so many times in my life, never seen such a fragile port before.

    • Ports aside what was the panel quality like?

  • I am looking for a 32", 4k, >100hz, USB-C monitor which get a simliar price tag (<$500), any suggestions?

  • +1

Thanks OP, got student discount (15% off).

    • Thank you for sharing this. Where can I find the student discount. Student Edge they only have a 7% off.

Monitor arrived today, first impression out the box
    - Brightness and Contrast set to 75% (bit bright) adjusted to Brightness 40% and Contrast 60% seems better
    - Color set to Standard, prefer sRGB
    - HDR doesn't make much of a difference
    - Dell have a new Monitor App called Dell Display and Peripheral Manager
    - Had to adjust to 120Hz as comes 60Hz 150% scaling out of the box (120hz is nice)
    - no USB ports with this version (not really a deal breaker as use the PC and a Hub anyway)
    - It has speakers, had no idea, kinda nice for playing a video
    - Colours are ok but the black uniformity isn't amazing, definitely a cheaper monitor and it shows here, it's definitely not a U series
    - Glare is present but not bad.
    - Text is crisp and easy to read at 150% scaling
    - Would be nice if this was 32" but for the price you can't complain too much
    - I wouldn't use this as a main monitor but ok as a second monitor

  • Got mine, not sure if it's just bad luck or common, there was a terrible colour shift. Asked for a return & refund.

    • What's their return policy, free returns?

    • What is colour shift? I haven't unboxed mine yet.
