My first deal of 2025. Sorry for the lack of time on OzB. Been focusing on family and life than the internet. Enjoy ❤️

    • +5

Great to see you back, missed your deals!!

    • +3

      Excuses! 😉

    • +1

Better late than never! Welcome back!

    • I had no idea amazon had a business department.

    • +1

Welcome back mate. Please sort out the YouTube Premium discounts for us?

    • +2

Eh? Isn't OzB both family and life?

  • "or link to your personal Amazon account."

Their wording on this seems to be "conversion". Does this mean you lose your personal account if you use same email?

    • +2

No. You can switch between personal and business using the same email.

      • +1

        Awesome. Cheers!

        • And if you feel like you want to unlink it, there is an option also.

          • +2

@I Smell Pennies: It says on my end after clicking conversion:
Your existing Prime membership will be cancelled
You’ll lose access to Prime Video, Fresh and other household benefits
This account will no longer be eligible for a free Business Prime Duo membership

            • @sn0w: That’s so weird, hmm. Didn’t happen to me I still have my personal Prime account and my Business under the same account. And it lets me switch back and forth.

              • @I Smell Pennies: Did you get an invitation, as it did mention invitation only.. maybe its different?

            • @sn0w: Mine also says that, it seems to encourage making a new email for business so you don't lose those benefits

              • +1

@Endynos: I checked with business chat on Amazon. They said you will lose if you convert it, but you can create with a separate email and once the business account is active (24-48hrs) you can start a Business Prime DUO plan - which means you can link the Prime on existing account to the business side. Also asked about invite only 30% EOFY deal and but only got a vague reply, they said you MAY get an email after you sign up. Hope this helps everyone!

                • @sn0w: Congratulations!
As an Amazon Prime member, you enjoy additional Business Prime benefits, including:

                  Fast, free Business Delivery
Get free One-Day Shipping or Same-Day Delivery on eligible orders.

                  Business Prime perks
Discover new Prime-exclusive deals and other member benefits from trusted partners.

                • @sn0w: How did you sign up

                  I got

The phone number you've entered already exists with another account.

                  • +1

@furyou: Just same as most others, signing up using a different email (business email). Did not have an issue having same mobile number on both accounts.

            • @sn0w: I got the same

          • @I Smell Pennies: Very confusing wording when proceeding with "Begin conversion"

We recommend using a different email to create your Amazon Business account.

If you continue to convert [email protected] to an Amazon Business account:

            • Your existing Prime membership will be cancelled
            • You’ll lose access to Prime Video, Fresh and other household benefits
            • This account will no longer be eligible for a free Business Prime Duo membership
            • +1

@Bargain Fighter: When I signed up it asked if I wanted to link my business account to my personal account. So I chose that option instead of entering a new email.

Now I have a separate business acc and my personal acc. Both under the same email and I can switch to either one as I wish. Both has Prime.

              This is bizarre.

              • @I Smell Pennies: I get this too.

              • @I Smell Pennies: Can you use gift card credit from your personal account on the business one?

              • @I Smell Pennies: I got the same.
                That's what I got:
                Congratulations!

    • it says if i continue the conversion I'll lose my existing prime membership, prime video & no longer be eligible for a free business prime duo membership.
do you guys all just continue the conversion?

      • +1

Let me investigate. When I signed up it didn’t mention any conversion or anything.

        • I just did the same thing,, and it says you will be enjoying amazon duo plan free of charge. It did not mention anything on how i will lose my existing benefit. I have set up with the same email address as well.

      • Thats kind of confusing, as on the link below, Prime Duo is only available for prime membership.

Can I use the discount on a switch 2 or do I gotta buy like bulk pens or something

    • +10

      Bulk PEN15 only

      • +2

The PEN15 code gives you a discount on both the price and the "tip".

      • +1

beware they don't deliver to pen island

    • +1

I'm impressed if you can browse Amazon on a Switch 2

  • so is it maximum $30 off?

    or maximum $100 off

    • +3

These terms and conditions apply to the offer where invited Amazon Business customers can get 30% off on the first eligible purchase, up to $100 (“Offer”).

      • -1

Still clear as mud lol. Which is it?

        • +5

Up to $100 off, regardless of how much your first purchase is

          The discount rate is 30%

          Seems clear to me

          • +7

@BargainsGrabber: So you really can't see how it might be interpreted as 30% off, for a purchase up to $100 value? Would be much simpler if they used eBay's wording - ie 30% off, max discount $100.

            • -2

@eggboi: Each to their own, but the “Offer” at the end of the sentence assumed it was relating to the max discount that you’ll receive

              • +1

@BargainsGrabber: Yeah it's bizarre, they use different wording on different screens too:

Screen 1: "Join by EOFY and get 30% off your first purchase up to $100."

Screen 2: "Join by EOFY and get 30% off your first eligible purchase (up to $100 savings)."

            • +1

@eggboi: ‘Max discount $100’ is literally the first thing you see when you click ‘go to deal’

              • -1

@Kayrhcp: Yeah bro, they changed the wording on the pages. Obviously because they were getting shitloads of questions about it.

          • +2

            @BargainsGrabber: $333 get $99.9 off

          • @BargainsGrabber: "up to $100" is not the same as "Up to $100 off"

            • -1

              @bigpoppa: Prove me otherwise then
              https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/910299

              $339.21 - 30% ($100) = $239.21

If it was up to $100, then that deal wouldn’t qualify as it would be ineligible since $339.21 > $100

              Thanks for the negs

              • -1

@BargainsGrabber: my guy none of that change the FACT that in contracts law and legal interpretation "up to $100" is not the same as "Up to $100 off".

I did get an email saying "30% off your first purchase on Amazon Business up to $100 savings" which is not as ambiguous as "up to $100" which again doesn't change the fact that "up to $100" is not the same as "Up to $100 off"

        • -4

          it really is VERY CLEAR!

  • +1

Does amazon business still restrict shipping on most items to regional areas? I miss most of the good deals from amazon because they won't ship to regional areas any more.

    • -1

Yeah if you eat into their profits with expensive shipping they may restrict you.

It would be better if they just offered you higher shipping rates.

I live less than 4km from Melbourne CBD and I am restricted from some cheap bulky items.

  • Looks like some reasonable prices on printers - 30% off should help.

  • -1

Now if I could just work out how to get an Amazon US business account - sigh!

    • You will need a business presence in USA first.

  • To register with your personal account email, make sure to use the webpage rather than the app.

    • I applied via webpage, if that helps…

      • I have the personal account already signed in on the webpage. When opening the Amazon Business page, it only shows the “Register Now” button, clicking it should take you to the account linking page.

  • +1

I clicked on a banner in my normal account and this is what comes up:

    https://imgur.com/a/4kI6vO8

I didn't receive any "invitation" as such.

    So I assume I'd get the discount/offer.

    • Did you get a invite code?

      • Nope. I just clicked the Amazon Business banner on my Prime acc

    • i got this as well

      • Yeah me too. Did we miss it?

  • I found clicking on "Sign In" from the front webpage, then clicking "Create a free account" below the log in fields, it took me to a page explaining how to use my one email for two seperate accounts. Easy peasy from there.

    • I just tried this and got "It looks like this email is being used for a personal account. To continue, use a different email for your Amazon Business account."

Seems from the comments its a split 50 50 with the messages! so weird.

  • It sounds like you may need to sign up for the business account using a different email address if you have Prime already, and then you can link it to your personal account. But if you try to register the business account and use the same email. There appears to be a conflict between the two accounts.

Going to try and register it using my work email address instead.

  • +8

It's asking for a verification code or want official paperworks. Did everyone go through the same stage ?

    • No official paperworks.

      • Asking for both proof of employment with company and official company documents… after providing ABN.

        • +2

Keep waiting if you can't upload the documents, they will check the name against the ABR register.

        • Yeah same thing asked me after providing ABN. So have you got approved? Mine said will respond in 24hrs.

          • @viki8702: Still waiting… and my business is an AWS partner… they literally sent me an invoice just the other day.

  • Anyone tried making a new amazon account and signing up to regular amazon prime and then joining amazon business on that account?

  • Assuming this would work with Switch 2 games? T&Cs doesn't seem to indicated it is excluded but it says 'This is an invitation-only offer. Promotion only applies to customers who receive this promotional offer from Amazon Business'

    so targetted?

    • Discount only applies to the items you can buy from the business store.

  • +3

I have prime on personal account. Signed up business from OP's links and can have 2 seperate profiles under 1 email. Thanks I Smell Pennies

Business Prime Duo is available exclusively to Amazon Prime members—for free. Your new business account is linked to your personal account, and you can unlink it anytime by visiting the Business Prime membership management.

    • Does personal prime account linked to business, makes it a business prime?

Does it need to be same names on the two accounts?

      • The personal acc still has original Amazon Prime
The business acc has Business Prime (if your personal has Prime)

      • +2

Yes they are linked together. Duo prime is active, so prime for both.

No, business account under my wife's name and ABN.

Quilton 48 pack only $14.4 after discount. Good price.

  • +1

Successfully registered to separate business email (on custom domain), was automatically verified and linked my wife's Prime account. Thanks!

    • Yay!

    • Did you need to provide abn still with custom domain email?

      • +1

yes, I think ABN field is mandatory

  • When I use Amazon app on iOS front page it says Amazon business and I click it- it says:

It looks like this email is being used for a personal account. To continue, use a different email for your Amazon Business account. (Can click use a different email or begin conversion).

If I go to web page Amazon.com.au it says:

Use one email for separate accounts
Easily switch between your personal and Amazon Business accounts. No data is shared between your accounts without your permission.

  • As I’ve never had a business account, I'm just wondering if it is totally fine from the Amazon and ATO perspectives to order personal stuff on a business account, as long as I'm not claiming anything on my taxes? I'm a sole trader, not registered for GST.

    • +2

Should be fine as long as its not claimed as expense on business.

    • +5

Good question, but yes this is 100% fine. ATO only cares about (and only has jurisdiction over) whether you can provide evidence if requested, to support the specific goods and services you claim in your tax return. Side note - you can claim 90% of something you use 90% for business use - eg mobile phone or laptop, even if obviously used for both.

In the same way, you can do biz buys on a personal credit card, or personal buys on a biz credit card as needed. It's just less headache for you and your accountant at tax time if you keep them separate.

Eg - Bunnings Powerpass signup requires an ABN and is intended for tradies, but has no bearing on your tax affairs. I encourage everyone with an ABN to sign up for powerpass by the way - it gives you 5% discount at the register on almost all products excluding tools, and all the receipts are auto-saved inside the powerpass app, which is a lifesaver when you inevitably come back to return some crap you bought. No more rifling through faded receipts rolling around in the foot well of the car for the last 3 months!

      • +1

Great tip with the bunnings powerpass! Wished I did this earlier as I’ve spent few $k with bunnings over the years…

  • +1

    PS5 at 30%? For businezzs use…

    • +1

      Tested and not working haha.

  • ATL on Anker Laptop Power Bank $139.30 after discount or if you buy two $119.955ea. Biggest discount has been 10% off on their site.

    • +1

this price $139.3 is after applying 30% off discount or just normal price on business prime?

  • Can anyone please confirm if discount is being applied on Apple watch s10 :D

    • +1

no, Apple is excluded according to t&c (I checked with macbook, no discount)

      • How about AirPods Pro 2? Myself unable to check due to pending verification.

Edit:Apple and Amazon devices excluded ;(
