RRP: $115

We’ve quietly secured one of the Barossa’s top-tier Shiraz releases—an Icon bottling from a standout 2022 vintage, just awarded 97 points by Sam Kim.

Offered under a secret label, this is your opportunity to access ultra-premium Barossa Shiraz at a fraction of its $115 cellar door price.

Why It’s Special:

Super premium presentation – heavy bottle, wax seal

Dark and brooding on the nose, with ripe plum, blackberry, licorice, and sweet spice. The palate is rich and layered, yet refined—seamlessly structured with silky tannins and a long, luxurious finish.

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit – 97 Points

"Gracefully rich and sumptuous, showing blackberry, vanillin oak, cake spice and rich floral aromas… multi-layered with seductive complexity. At its best: now to 2040."

I think so too, heaps of vendors selling them off at discount. About $150 per 6 pack.

      • Now give me the same info but throw a jv joke in

        • +1

Sure! Here’s a JV-themed OzBargain joke, drawing on his legendary comment count, love of bold text, and reputation for always asking the hard questions:

Why did JV bring a magnifying glass to OzBargain?

Because even after 100,000 comments, he still wants to make sure the “fine print” is in bold!

And just like every OzBargain deal, here’s the catch: If you spot a freebie, JV’s probably already asked, “Which store? Which brand? Exclusions apply—what is excluded?”

After all, on OzBargain, the only thing more certain than a price drop is JV turning up to ask the questions you didn’t even know you had!

Is it Schild Estate Pramie Shiraz

    • Yes, "Schild Estate Prämie Shiraz" is a wine, and the most recent vintage is 2021, according to WineStar. There is no indication of a 2022 vintage being available from Schild Estate.

      • Weird coincidence though as it’s tasting notes are Dark and brooding on the nose, with ripe plum, blackberry, licorice, and sweet spice. The palate is rich and layered, yet refined—seamlessly structured with silky tannins and a long, luxurious finish.
        sound familiar?

just awarded 97 points by Sam Kim.

A high rating from the guy that rates everything highly doesn't really mean anything, especially when he only reviews wines that he is paid to review…

    • Yea. Anything below 95 from wine orbit, don't bother. Over 95 is barely drinkable.

Surprised the wine didn't score a full mark given it is (as claimed) to a $100 wine.

The Conversation reached out to Sam Kim, who said his $30 flat fee helped in running his small business – and that doing the work for free simply wasn’t viable.

    • +3

I have no problem with the fee to review wines, wineries can't expect it for nothing.

Consumers need to consider whether the ratings of a particular reviewer align with their taste buds or not by trying them for themselves.

  • Definitely the Prosperitas, pretty good value at this price point.

    • Have you tried and what are your thoughts? For calibration/comparison, what are some other wines you like highly?
