this has been on my list for awhile. interesting sounding story. not available on other services.

I recognize the Korean actor.
it's a bit of a long one at 2 hours 19 mins but if you like foreign movies you might give it a try.

War, Thriller, Foreign (Korea).
Starring: Choi min-Sik, Directed: Park Hoon-jung.

In 1925 Korea, Japanese rulers demand the last remaining tiger be killed. The tiger easily defeats his pursuers until a legendary hunter takes him on.

  • The 'Korean actor' is Choir Min-sik. Most well known for Oldboy, I Saw the Devil and possibly Lucy in the west. Recently he's been in Exhuma.

As for the movie, it generally has favourable reviews but it has some glaringly rough and frequent Tiger and wolf CGI. If you can live with that and enjoy melodramatic storytelling you might get something out of this

    • I Saw the Devil

thanks I saw this and liked it. a bit brutal but good recommendation for high pace thriller and maybe horror fans.

  • And do people really consider 2 hours and 19 minutes a long movie?

    • over 2 hours yes. like personally 118 mins for slightly longer. 93 mins is quick, 108 mins is also common.

when I see 140 mins or 168 mins I think long. it makes a difference if you don't really plan and know a movie is going to be long, you finish it and it's much later in the evening than usual.

JFK which I posted here is 3 hours 25 mins. it's really long, but one of the ones which was a good story so kept my attention throughout. probably because famous tragedy and all. it had a similar figuring things out after a tragedy vibe, like Patriot's day (it's on Prime and Stan) I liked that movie.
