Cordless Vacuum (Household with Pets)

Hi all

What are the best cordless vacuums that can handle excessive pet hair?

Trying to keep the spend under $700 if possible. Battery life is important.

  • Probably over the $700 budget, I just got the Dyson V15. They are on discount on the Dyson store and probably at other stores. I was underestimating how good and practical the cordless Dysons were until I tried them. Really happy with V15. I used to have pets, the bin on the V15 might be a bit too small if you have pets, meaning you would need to empty it more often.

Can vouch for the v15. I have a dog and a cat, the dog loses a lot of hair, not really a problem with the v15. I do vacuum daily though so bin size isn't an issue

I would use the money to buy a Miele C3 and then use whatever is left to buy bags

    • Corded is a deal breaker in my house

      • I was on the edge of buying the C3. I am so happy I got the Dyson. Going cordless is magic.

  • I got the Dyson Gen5Detect with the stand for about $695 last Black Friday. There's a larger version (Gen5outsize I think it's called) with a bigger bin which may be handy depending how much pet hair you're talking about, how frequently you vacuum and how big your place is.

    • Am looking at this Dyson atm. That's a damn good price. Might have to wait to see what BF sales this year

      • That was with a cashback offer

Managed to get one for about $850 with eBay discount and cashback. Got delivered yesterday.

@Whatisthatvelvet: Nice. My only tip (which I was given by someone else and applies to most devices) is to let the battery cool down before charging it again, and once it is fully charged turn the charger off. This apparently helps extend the battery life.

    • Love my Dyson Gen5.
I got it on Boxing day sales and it was $550 off.

  • Thanks for everyone’s feedback so far.
