With so many protective coatings to choose from, what is the difference between old school waxes, sealants, ceramic sprays, and ceramic coatings (tiny bottle)?

One gripe I have with PF is that his tests are all 1 data point. I know he puts in a lot of effort to do these tests as fairly as possible, but the fact of the matter is that if he has a sample that is an outlier or even a standard deviation outside of average, then that would really skew the data and hurt sales or paint an unrealistic image of the product. This is unlikely, but I believe it's a fair point.

Modern sealants outperform waxes for protection, ease of application and durability, but don’t give as lustrous a look. DIY ceramic isn’t worth the additional cost and hassle.
Bowdens Bead Machine is what I recommend and easily lasts six months. Bowdens Happy Ending is a hose on product for intermediate washes.
Have you compared it with other spray type costings like turtle wax and mother's cmx?
Turtle wax the brand? There are comparisons online between Bead Machine, Mothers CMX and similar.
