An upholstery cleaner with steam function, decent reviews elsewhere. Amazon low rating review mentions missing wheels but wheels are only included in selected models (HN version seems to have them) so you won't find castor wheels with this model.

Bought it. Have used it once. So tedious to get out and setup and put away. Did nothing to clean my couch either.

    • Thanks, I might try the old spray and clean option instead!

I love this unit. Can remove anything and no matter how old the stain!

  • Would this be a good choice to clean a white/cream fabric couch? Otherwise what would be the recommendation?

Somehow JB Hi Fi had the Bissell SpotClean Turbo on clearance for only $180! It's been a beast, we’re currently toilet training our newly adopted 2-year-old greyhound, and it really helps to keep the carpets and furniture fresh. Highly recommend having a spot cleaner in the house for quick cleanups.

Got this from the Good Guys. Stupid how it didn't come with the wheels. The motor vent was blocked when you put the thing on carpet and would really heat the unit up. Had to put it on a plastic box with lots of holes. Finally got the wheels from Bissell which took ages and was something like $30 with delivery, and they were tiny!

  • The hand held, lithium unit is so much better imo. Rotating scrubbing brush so you don't need to use your elbow as much, smaller, easier to maneuver and cheaper from memory. No steam though if that's important.

    • Is it the stain eraser turbo? Interesting machine. Does it have enough suction? Can you clean a whole car with one charge?

Sounds right. It's basically a wet and dry vacuum with spinning brush (and a static rubber option for smelly messes), spray mechanism and clean and dirty water reservoirs. Decent suction, cordless. Not really sure how to qualify "clean a whole car" - would depend on amount of dirt, size of car, type of car materials.

        • Would be good if you could share an example from your experience (if you tried using it on a car)
I will probably go with this one though(Hydrosteam), I find the basic spotclean model's suction is barely good enough and assume portable one would be weaker, taking longer to dry.

  • I had hired one via Facebook Marketplace to clean my fabric couch not too long ago- did the work and I had been waiting for this to go on sale. I have looked this up and found there were 2 versions - 3689F and 3689H, I don't know the difference between the two. It did the work for me, I have timber floor boards so I don't know how different it would feel if you had carpets but it does heat up a bit, it can be a little too loud too. I also found that the there could be some water leaking out from the nozzle as you push the button to release it along with the steam. I had two water refills for a 2.5 seater and would have gone for a third had I not been too lazy - it takes a bit of arm strength to push the nozzle down to let the steam run and suck the water back through to the machine. The killer would also be having to use the solution which could mean having to use a whole bottle in that case for one sitting, you might be able to just use water and the steam could still work

3689H is Harvey Norman version, comes with castor wheels for what it's worth. A milk crate would be good enough I guess. I bought this https://autolac.com.au/3d-extractor-shampoo-3-78lt/ which is half price of bissells solution, haven't used it yet though.

      • Tried this stuff today. Recommended amount is 6-12ml per litre compared to 20-40ml on Bissells so much more concentrated and economical, smell is pretty similar to Bissells. Can't comment much on cleaning strength though, it did the job but I didn't use it on very stained surface.
