    • Thoughts on the 75"?

  • Why pay this, when Aldi have their 70" QLED for $599?

  • Good to see Dick Smith back in business

      But it isn't

    • dicksmith.com.au has actually been owned and operated by Kogan for years. This is why you can buy this Kogan TV on this online store. It's essentially the Kogan store under another name. As in rebranded Kogan store.

      • Thanks for letting me know. Here I was thinking that a shop full of his electronic gadgetry had re-opened. Sadly just reselling Chinese rubbish.

        • Yeah even when the actual B&M store chain called Dick Smith went into liquidation all those years ago (and then the Dick Smith brand name was sold to Kogan through the liquidation) it wasn't even owned by Dick Smith the man and it was selling Chinese rubbish back then even (i remember buying cheap and crappy Dick Smith batteries made in China back then before the liquidation and other crap made in China stuff). But in the end of it was more of a made in China home entertainment and computers electronics store and cheap chinese made junk. That's how i remember the store chain Dick Smith towards the end near the liquidation.

It was owned by Woolworths for decades (until the eventual liquidation) ever since the man Dick Smith sold his business in full in 1982. After that it was in the Dick Smith name only and not affiliated with the actual man Dick Smith.

So the current dicksmith.com.au has nothing to do with the old Dick Smith. It's whatever Chinese made stuff which Kogan has sourced.

          • @hollykryten: Thanks for clarifying. Poor old Dick himself would be horrified.

  • I have this TV at home and I bought it recently. Its a good TV apart from you have to pay for subscription in order to cast files from your phone.
