  • I bought the mini version recently. Kind of regret not getting this size.

    • I bought a mini for my daughter, which looks amazing. The mini ones are ecodrive(solar powered), which I reckon is a major benefit, because when you replace the battery on a diver's watch you often have to pay for new seals and pressure testing, which is very expensive.

      • Agreed, the Eco-Drive versions are amazing watches in both sizes (I have one of each). Super-legible, awesome lume, and a rock-solid build. I never thought about the battery replacement issue you mentioned but it makes perfect sense and is further argument for longevity of Eco-Drive.

        • I had a Casio G-shock 200m once. All up, I think I spent $80 to get the battery replaced by a watchmaker who did all the above. And that was 20 years ago.
I've only bought solar powered watches since. I'm still using an Ecodrive I bought in 2007.

You shouldn't have to replace the seals every time you get a new battery, but pressure testing is a good idea. This is an automatic however and doesn't need a battery.

  • Looks nice.

So good, so tempted, already have the mustard and orange. I love this series of watches

    • What accuracy per day are you getting out of them?

  • Looks to be a good option for the price. It's a bit on the thick side (the Citizen website states 13.7mm, not 12.6: https://citizen.com.my/product/ny0129-07l ), but the dive watch aesthetic allows chunkiness.

I was all set to buy it and saw a youtube video only to realise it actually has a blue rotary dial not quite evident from the photo. This is unboxing video. Pretty watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppzCZCdv_O0

    • What did you think it was?

      • It appeared to be black Rotary dial in the photos. The video revealed the blue shades. Personally I'd have preferred black like the mustard and orange colorways.

        • Ah, got it.

          • @gadgetguy: I ended up getting this watch in the end, couldn't resist, it's a lot more subtle than the video and closer to be photos. I can't see the blue shade in free rotary dial, so it's similar to my other promasters in terms of the rotary dial. I quite like this colourway as it's a lot more versatile and not as attention grabbing, so I might just sell the orange.

  • 40hr power reserve with hand winding & hacking

I understand hacking but how do you hand wind this, given that it has a screw-down crown? I thought that would lock the crown?

You unscrew the crown, then it winds.
