Before anyone complains that this isn't a bargain just because it's busy… take a look at Fitness First and their recent price hikes. Let's support businesses that don’t randomly jack up their prices for no reason

By your own admission, more expensive than previous deals. $148-149pa has surfaced numerous times recently. "24-hour access to ALL locations Australia-wide" has been incorrect for months now, and not resolved (e.g. access cards).

Still cheaper than any other 15 or 12 month memberships.

These gyms might not even be open in 15months time, theyre in the process of shutting down

      you have evidence?

What makes you say they're in the process of shutting down? Thought they were doing alright for themselves with new locations opening recently

Which new locations have opened recently? Seems like a few have been in construction limbo for awhile. The big Elizabeth SA gym was meant to be open last year but there's been no news on it for about 9 months. There's been ongoing speculation of them having money issues. Someone correct me if I'm wrong for any of these but a few bad signs are: They built their brand on "24/7" but abolished that at multiple locations, renovations and maintenance that have been going on for years now are on hold midway through at multiple locations, reports of superannuation and pay issues for staff. And also some of their recent deals have been as cheap their pre-covid sales; nothing is pre-covid prices, it just doesn't seem sustainable.

I paid 12 months at Macgregor (QLD), then they closed all locations in the state and did not refund

      • Surely you go to QCAT?

  • I signed up a week ago and tbh for $148 for 12 month membership it's a no brainer. Yes it get busy during peak times but I've never not had any equipment that was readily available. It's a massive Gym. Probably the biggest surface area in Australia. People complain yet most other gyms cost you in excess of $600 for equivalent membership.

    • my anytime fitness membership costs over $1k for a year. $199+29 for a year is a no brainer.
However I'm not signing up because I'm a fat fcku amd going to anytime fitness is closer to my house.
Also I found people who go to AF tend to be more respectful of others, unlike a few examples I've seen at Derrimut when I used to train there. It amazes me that almost everyone at my local AF also used to trained at Derrimut
