  • You have to take 2 daily (the packaging actually recommends up to 3) a day, so 100 becomes 50 or 33…

Learnt this when I bought this the last time and not too sure if it's a good deal. Might stick with my Magnesium from iHerb.

Does it not depend on your diet and how much magnesium you get from your food sources. Anyway I have just been taking 1 tablet a night about an hour before bed time and it seems to work for me. My Deep Sleep and REM sleep times have increased by about 20 to 40 minutes each, most importantly I have no trouble going back to sleep if i wake up at night to pee which at my age i need to do most nights. All this might be placebo but I am not complaining

      • Thanks for that. Have heard from some friends that magnesium would help my sleep, so might give this q go. Have some hard time getting to sleep sometimes, and same if i wake up in the middle of the night. Even worst when i wake up and look at my watch and start doing the maths of how many more hours of sleep i still have left (i do avoid looking at it as much as possible)

        • For me i never had any trouble sleeping but used to have this problem of falling asleep if i wake up for any reason. Since I started taking Magnesium I am able to go back to sleep in 5 -10 mins again and this single thing has improved my life so much.

@FiDad: Thanks for that, will give it a try. And I'm glad you are sleeping better! We spend 1/3 of our lives sleeping, so it must be quality time

    • What do you use from iherb?

the tricky thing is testing for magnesium in our body, but apparently most of the population is deficient in some way, we just dont know it as typical blood tests wont reveal as most is stored in our bones and soft tissues instead of blood.

  • Powder is a good deal. Just be aware it tastes kind of like dead fish lol. Fortunately doesn't smell like it, and the taste doesn't last like you imagine oily dead fish would, but it is pretty gross. I take it before bed and make a mental note each time to investigate buying one of those pill making devices in the morning but by then the memory has faded.

3g of powder is equivalent to 1 capsule, so essentially the powder = 80 capsules

Yep you're right. The pills are a better deal. The powder I have in the cupboard is over 3 times the concentration of mag as this stuff. Probably tastes better.

    • I mix it with some citric acid powder and it helps neutralise the taste.

      • I've got some citric acid in the cupboard from when I made some diy evaporust, I'll give it a go! What sort of ratio?

        • +1

I have a half scoop of magnesium glycinate then a few shakes of citric acid - it's easier than using lemon juice and I have them stored next to each other. You'll work out the ideal ratio but it neutralises the taste very effectively!

  • Magnesium (and other supps) are one of those things I always turn to when I’m feeling run-down, can't sleep, sore, etc, then I forget about soon after whether or not I’m back to normal. At the moment I haven’t taken any for ages and feel fine. Makes me think it’s more about sleep, screens, hydration… the usual culprits. But honestly, who knows?

I have used these before with good results - better deal IMO - https://www.amazon.com.au/Magnesium-Glycinate-Essential-Supp…

Good find. Cheaper and contains more magnesium per tablet.

  • I have tried these, and they are very good. Same deal as they come in 963mg https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/149673/nutralife-mag…

  • Just don't buy Vitamatic Magnesium Glycinate 500mg per Tablet - 180 Vegetarian Tablets - Added B6 which are really 133mg on Amazon i bought them and boy they are so dry on the outside that they stick to the inside of my throat like glue, i tried breaking them in half but still does the same . Waste of money unless you like choking.

  • This powder is too sweet. Is there non sweet version?

  • This from someone posted few weeks ago better?
