Correct
Everything is Made in China these days
Not true.
My shoes are made in Vietnam.LOL what the difference between Vietnam and China apart from culture difference.
Note: Aquila is low quality dredge (gone way down over the years). Could've gone for the $50 boots deal the other day instead
I bought some 2 years ago and mine are still holding up pretty well
With RM williams also gone to crap on quality, where do you buy decent quality affordable boots anymore?
Double Monk
If you are after that simple boot look these are great https://www.mongrelboots.com.au/product/riding-boot/
these are just glued together, not welted
Trueeeee - they still comfy
Thursday boots hands down.
If you're bothered to spend a bit of time getting yourself measured up I suggest Allen Edmunds they have 50-70% off sales (~250-400aud) very often with a seconds outlet sale every few months if you get lucky and they have your size then can easily get something with minor cosmetic defects sub 250aud. Meermin is great option and thursday boots is very decent for the price (buy from amazon, get mutiple sizes and return) and buy straight from their website during a sale.
For AU outside of RM, shoes tend to last 1-2 years max. If you have a quality shoe and if take care of it can last 3-4 years before it needs to be resoled, if wearing in mainly an office setting I reckon 5 years+.
Mongrel boots is probably the best around the 100-150aud local, not exactly a boot made for resole but it's decent leather/support/structure. Made to be abused and you throw it out after a few years.
Anyone who boasts that they got some sub 100-150$ boot and it's "lasted years" either doesnt know what they are talking about, is walking around some shoe that they should really throw in the trash or has some a cheap shoe without any actual structure/support/shank but it happens to have thick plastic sole that they've spent the last few years sanding.
Meermin aren't bad. Goodyear welted.
Aquilla shoes are terrible quality. They won't even last a year if they are your main work boot.
You need hard yakka boots for work.
Made in China
Overpriced. $100 would be fair
