I bought this about a month ago. Finished it yesterday. I haven't punched through a game in ages. Epic game. I got the last of us mixed with crysis feelings. It was that good. And Reeves being a main character was cool.

      Whoa

    • I put a month in it last year around august!

It was a great escape from reality.

Remember if you have a PS5 to go to the the store page with the disc in to download the free PS5 version.

Also I absolutely loveeeee this game.

    • +1

Any reason not to buy this version over the ps5 one if it gets the free upgrade?

      • PS4 version is missing an update and you won’t be able to purchase and access the Phantom Liberty DLC.

While Cyberpunk 2077 base game is available on PlayStation 4, this version of the game received its last patch on November 8th, 2022 and is no longer supported. A PlayStation 5 is required in order to download and apply Cyberpunk 2077 patches released after that date – as well as to buy and play the Phantom Liberty expansion pack.

Just to be clear on this one, with the PS4 disc, it does let me download the PS5 version, which does give me the latest update and did let me play the Phantom Liberty DLC (purchased separately) on my PS5.
It sounds like you very much need to ensure you do download the PS5 version, or you'll end up playing the PS4 version of this comment here?

      • Don't think so, I think when it came out the idea was that there wasn't. And in my case I feel its better because you get all the extras.

The only things I can think of are
        1. You can buy the new version with the Expansion and the expansoin is great
        2. In 10 years time when Sony starts shutting down servers you have the game on a disc you can use without it
        3. You want to get up and playing quick and would prefer to download the update as opposed to the whole entire game on PS5.

        • Also PS4 discs spin quite a bit louder than PS5 discs, so if you want a quieter environment go with the PS5 disc.

          1. In 10 years time when Sony starts shutting down servers you have the game on a disc you can use without it

Hopefully this is the case. Most games nowadays on risk requires further download to even start the game, there's rarely any standalone disk games anymore.

          Which is bull

          • @smartProverble: That’s simply not true for PS5 games.

69% of discs are fully install-and-play from disc completely offline, with a further 16% also still playable without patches, but not advisable due to specific bug fixes.

4% aren’t actually playable without a patch to fix them. Only 11% have mandatory forced downloads.

          • @smartProverble: That's true with Xbox One and Series X games which require DRM just to run. And won't run at all until the latest update is downloaded and installed. That's going to be a crap show if Microsoft decides to shut down the update server.

That's why the PS5 is better because the game discs aren't locked behind a DRM which requires the latest patch update just to run the game.

  • $5 for Xbox version at BigW

      Where? Oos?

      • +1

Picked Cyberpunk, Tennis 25 and Fallout for $15 at Penrith.

    • Is Xbox one version upgradable to Xbox series x?

      • Yes i think that one does automatically download the Series X version after you insert the disc for the first time. If you can even find it at Big W. It's not listed on the web site any more so i would say there is extremely limited stock nation wide.

An alternative if there's no stock at Big W (if you're planning to get Phantom Liberty also) is Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition Series X (includes Phantom Liberty) for $69 at JB.

Just FYI this not super great on PS4. PS5 it's Phenomenal. Overall it's one of the best.

    • +1

Agreed, I found it so bad that it would become unejoyable due to how bad it would play, especially after an hour or two of running.
Loading the game up takes 5 minutes so not a easy quit and reload either.

      This is on a non-pro PS4

Main characters voice got on my nerves a bit, same guy that did atomic heart i think.

    • +1

Yeah I really don't need the guy to sound "cool" all the time

  • +2

says comes with next gen update…

if you update it do you still need the disc when playing / does it get added to your psn library?

    • +1

You still need to insert the disc while playing the PS5 version.

  • If you have a PS4 and a Switch 2, better to get Cyberpunk 2077 for the Switch 2 as it has better performance than the PS4 version as well as the Phantom Liberty expansion which never came to the PS4 and Xbox One versions.

    • but then again the switch 2 version is no where near the cheaper pricing for the ps4 version.

  • I’ve still got this from day one at big w…need to install it again

  • Need to replay this sometime

  • Does this game have a story mode single player campaign?
Is it similar to Just cause series?

  • I just paid $120 for this on the Switch 2, 3rd time i've bought this game..

    • It's definitely somewhat painful buying the same game multiple times but I will say CDPR (among other companies and their games) enabling cross progression makes it a little easier to deal with

      • the cross progression requires you to sign up for a cd project etc acc and then sync it that way via the cloud.

Why don't games have offline save features these days so lame.

  • +3

Plus $44.95 for the Phantom Liberty DLC on the PS Store. Means $69.95 total.

But if you have a PS5 you can get the Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition PS5 currently for $69 at JB. It includes a code to redeem Phantom Liberty for free.

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/playstation-5-cyberpunk-2…

So in the end of the day if you're getting the Phantom Liberty DLC as well (which most people would) then it's actually just slightly cheaper just getting the Ultimate Edition for PS5. That's if you have a PS5.
