SITTBRUNN 60W USB-C 1m Cable $4 + Delivery (+ $5 C&C under $50 Spend/ $0 in-Store) @ IKEA

180

I posted this before. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/869885

and once before that for $4.50 which is when I bought a few.
I know it's long running but wanted to post again now 8 months after the last $4 post and 15 months after I bought them.

it's also Free C&C at IKEA currently. Until 31 Aug 2025.

my review:

I got these March 2024, now it's June 2025. so 15 months and I have not had a single issue with these USB-C to C cables.

some nasty comments on the $4.50 saying these were one of the worst quality cables you can get, but my experience has been nothing but great.

I have been treating them like any other cable, plug and unplug by holding the connector area, and coiling up loosely after I'm done.

I have no idea how others who had bad experience treated them, but maybe they always yank them by the cable to unplug?

also one user in particular had issues with this cable and Apple carplay. ymmv. but IKEA states that these cables have a temperature sensor inside which will stop power when there is an overheating issue. never had this happen once using indoors, but might happen if you plan to use it in the car during hot Aussie summer.

Cable spec: 60W (20V/ 3A. data is 480mbps/USB2.0).

  • i use ikea cables in car for charging/carplay, this one and yellow $2 USB A - USB C one both are working fine for more than a year now.

    • yeah idk. this one user seemed be very fed up with them.

can't remember now because over a year ago, but pretty sure they said they returned and tried new ones multiple times before giving up and concluding they were crap.

I'm not using them in the car, but as regular USB-C cables I can't find anything wrong with them. they are great for $4.

worth mentioning these 1.2m $3 ones from Kmart were still in stock when I checked, but they use large metal connectors which may not work with all phone cases. also just feel the simplicity of the IKEA ones probably make them more durable.

  • Haven't seen thunderbolt deals lately

    • regarding thunderbolt cables. I have never needed one personally.

but I remember watching a video, where they tested intel certified cables and said "buy this one from budget brand it performs the same as the expensive ones (apple etc), the others are cheaply made inside".

and I tried remembering for another user, but could not. tried finding that video again, couldn't find it.

if only I could remember the brand.. 🤔 pretty sure it wasn't satechi or anker..
