Nike Tech Fleece Pants (Alternative Sub $60)

Hi all, hoping people here have some experience or can point me in the direction of an alternative to the Nike Tech Fleece Joggers?

These don't have to have any logo's etc. I am sure as hell not paying high prices for the real deal. Prices float around $100. $100 for a pair of tracksuit pants is ridiculous!

Thanks in advance :)

What do you need them for, warmth or track work? Tech fleece is marketing hype.

"Tech Fleece line uses a unique blend of cotton jersey and polyester".

Cotton becomes damp and stays damp - good for summer. Polyester is warm and dries reasonably fast - better for winter. So, if you want warmth, just look for a high percentage of environmentally unfriendly polyester. With suitable fabric thickness and density, of course.

    • The original Polartec is 100% polyester. More than $60, but you can get "fleece" copies from camping/outdoor shops for less.

Yes, cotton/poly blend sounds like a dumb idea for track pants.

    • if you want warmth, just look for a high percentage of environmentally unfriendly polyester

or wool (as in from sheep or other animals)

    • What do you need them for, warmth or track work?

Warmth, wearing to the shops, nothing substantial. But admittedly, I prefer like the 'taper' look rather than the baggy version.

    • Cotton becomes damp

      Hence the motto: Cotton kills

Cheers JW - I grabbed 1 x green and 1 x black from Kmart, following your lead. We'll see how they go.

@Jimothy Wongingtons: Tried both on (wore the black ones yesterday arvo) & a solid 7/10. Not quite Tech Fleece, but for $22, it’s about as good a deal as you’ll get.

Check out evostripe series from puma too similar look, sub $60 for the pants when on sale if you still want a ‘brand’ name / hype look.

It’s what @rosebank would have wanted.

  • Just hit the DFO. I got some fleece from Fila for $40 a piece and didn't feel fleeced.

    • did you feel tech fleeced?

      • Yeah and I was looking for quantum tech fleece, VISLON, aquaguard, Futurelight with micro plastic technology built in.

    • I'm a self-diagnosed Amazon addict, and prefer not to buy from bricks and mortar tbh.

Here you go, logos and all.
    https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=742680762221
And it’s part of the spend ¥249 get free click and collect in Australia deal.

    • I haven't bought from Taobao for a long time - and when I did, I had to use Superbuy (freight forwarder). How's the process now?

      • Me too! Superbuys gone now, and if I need an agent I use cssbuy (for non ¥249 items).
But now you can get free shipping on items that have the green truck icon when u spend over ¥249, and if u have the chinese app u can filter by these 249 items to find them.
U click and collect at a Cainiao point near you which there are alot of and Taobao collects it all up for you and ships direct. It takes about 10 days total and theres no fees, but also no qc check and you have to pay gst. I highly recommend it, super affordable.

        • You are a braver man than I. I can't wait that long I think. Thanks anyway :(

I used to feel the same way about paying $100 for tech fleece. Then I bit the bullet an just bought it, after trying dupes and knockoffs.

Honestly nothing comes close to the real thing. I even bought a second pair.

    Buy once, cry once.

  • I understand, but damn there's got to be another way; An OzBargain way.

I've bitten the bullet and followed Jimothy's suggestion - And grabbed 2 pairs of Kmart Sport Fleece. We'll see. I might regret and if I do, tech fleece unfortunately will be the way to go.
