Had a look at some comments on reddit, sounds like it's pretty difficult to get into and the game is a grind to progress in. The price is free with the goal of enticing you to spend cash to enhance progression

  This is just wrong. The only in app purchases are DLC and there are no pay to win elements.
  This is a usually payed for game that is going up for free, not a free to play game that wants to make more money from users.
  
  Game is about exploration and failure, and has few late game moments that are repetitive, so not to everyones taste if that counts as "grind".
