      As annoying as I find the experience, shopping on the in-app browser on the shopback app on an android has never failed to track for me.

        Is that specifically for Temu? I generally do that for others except sometimes when there is an app (eg. Aliexpress, Amazon). I don't currently have Temu app but do have an account.

          I've paid a lot more attention to Temu because the tracking is so unreliable, other stores I am not as particular how I shop as they track ok.

      That's standard practice, no? Typical for business to start cheap to break into the market, then gradually increase price as customers get familiar and attached to the business. The platform likely subsidised part of the cost for the suppliers, but will gradually reduce the subsidy.

    Its a good deal but I will not buy electrical items from there any more. Most of the electrical items purchased last year are now stopped working within 12 months. Called their customer service with no luck.

      It will just be a bad solder joint, wire has come off somewhere etc etc. Pop it open, fix it.
      If it's battery based, go grab some cells out of literally anything these days and replace it.

      Temu only tracks at 85%, same as Aliexpress. So you will only get $425 at most.

    Something is wrong with this deal! I click from the shopback link and Temu site says OOPS SORRY ONLY NEW USERS GET THIS COUPON
    Shopback has forked up… their email to me, and this post don't qualify the 50% as being restricted to new users.
    Fail.

      This was discussed before. Theres a new user coupon which only works with new users. So you aren't eligible for that, hence you cant use it. iirc its 30% off your order.

        I don't care if it was discussed before…both the header of this "bargain" and the email I received from shopback said new AND EXISTING users.
        I accept that you're correcting me on the actual rate they pay…I'm talking about false advertising and a false deal.

          The "false deal" is that you're not a new user, and hence not eligible to use the new user coupon.

          The coupon is embedded into the link so that new users don't complain that they missed out on the coupon, similar to how sometimes codes are embedded into the Ozbargain links to automatically apply the coupon.

                @ATangk: I can see that banner on the shopback site. Adjacent to the text that says 50% cashback for new and existing users, 1 hour 15 minutes remaining.

                If you're suggesting that shopback has negotiated a 50% PLUS a 30% discount for new users… thus 80% discount… I suspect you are wrong.

                HOWEVER…. When I click the link to temu….NOT the banner… Temu says OFFER IS ONLY FOR NEW USERS.

                I don't know if you're seeing different on an app, or if one of us has good analysis and deduction and the other has bad analysis and deduction.

                either way, I reckon that using a pc…not an app… my analysis is correct and the header on this ozbargain is false advertising.

                  @rooster7777: I can tell you are a bit misled if you think a 50% cashback and 30% discount equals 80% discount.

                  Cashback is offered on the final pricing, so the 30% discount applies first.

                  $100 order less 30% = $70. Cashback of 50% on post tax amount of $70 gives you $29.75 cashback on a tracked amount of $59.50 (thanks to the magic of tax at 85% tracking).

                  So you will pay $40.25 for $100 items after all said and done.

                  Existing users will get $42.50 cashback on $100, paying $57.50 for the same order.

          my understanding is that after clicking through to Temu via Shopback
          it lands into the "New User" page which then shows the "OOPS SORRY ONLY NEW USERS GET THIS COUPON"

          But the tracking from Shopback should work with both "new" and "existing" user, with 50% cashback rate

    $97.67 purchase didn't track
    $20 added last week after raising the issue, support said the rest would be added this week and $14.18 was just added.

    Not quite the 50%

    Edit: Okay now they've just loaded 3 more lots of $14.18 into my account totalling $56.72 + $20 from last week. No idea what they're upto but I'm liking it
