Lots of chatter about this one online recently. Looks like it's finally hit our shores… For those who haven't already seen it on Dailymotion.

Synopsis:
In the occupied territory of the West Bank is a growing ultra-nationalist community of Israeli settlers. Louis meets prominent settlers and discovers the consequences of their activity - and their plans to move into Gaza.

    Looks like someone’s calling “free” a deal just because it’s not behind a paywall—this is more “here’s something to watch” than “bargain alert.” Maybe better suited for the forum’s “What are you watching?” thread than the deals feed.

      If a newly released Marvel movie was available freely on ABC iView in comparison to being paywalled behind Disney+, would you consider that relevant to be posted as a bargain? I certainly would.

        Fair point—if a brand-new Marvel blockbuster suddenly popped up free on ABC iView instead of behind the Disney+ paywall, that’d definitely be a deal worth shouting about.

        But…..the key difference is that Marvel movies are typically premium content locked behind subscriptions or rentals, so free access there is genuinely rare and valuable.

        Louis Theroux documentaries, on the other hand, are regularly broadcast free on public platforms like ABC iView, so posting them as “deals” is more like sharing free-to-air TV listings than uncovering a bargain.

        It’s less “deal” and more “FYI”—better suited to a forum chat than the deals feed.

          Appreciate your reply. I'm new to Louis Theroux and have never watched his documentaries before. I hadn't been able to find access the last few weeks since its release. Hence I place them in the same category as Marvel movies simply because I don't have that impression of them being easily accessible. So for me personally, I'd definitely appreciate it as a 'deal'.

        Unless there's an organised e-mail campaign by certain pressure groups, in which case ABC management collapses like a house of cards. Then spend millions of taxpayers' money on lawyers denying they did. Then complain they don't have enough money to do their job.

    Does it actually tell a reasonably informed person anything they don't already know?

    Will anyone who isn't already reasonably informed on the subject watch it?

    Will it make any difference?

    Here's the reality. As much as we don't have religion as the centre of our society, it is built on the New Testament. Love thy neighbour as thyself. Whether thy neighbour is white, black, brown, yellow or whatever. We expect our society and its leaders and its institutions to treat everyone as equals. The Jewish state is a country built on the Old Testament. From the time when your loyalty, your total loyalty, was to your tribe. These days the rest of us call that racism. And that's what you see and hear from the Jewish settlers on the West Bank. What their religion taught them was right.

      If more people knew or woke up to what hard-core Old Testament Zionist Jewish zealots are taught and how they really think (via the Talmud) of non-Jews and especially Christians they'd not be so eager to condemn the likes of Hamas or Iran.

        The two things I am appalled by are that first the world is letting the Zionist state do what it is doing. Starvation. Ethnic cleansing. Murder. Genocide. War crimes. And secondly when the worst racists in the world try to silence those of us trying to point out what they are doing and demand they not be allowed to do whatever they want to whoever they want our leaders back them and call us the racists. The anti-semites. The ones damaging community cohesion. They let broadcasters sack journalists for just declaring support for victims. They pressure and let university administrators expel students for protesting about it, and enforce a policy on academics and students that criticism of the Zionist state is racism. Its sad enough, but expected, when the conservatives have those sorts of policies, but when the PM who was in his student days the founder of the Labor for Palestine movement does, it stinks.

The statesmen and politicians we have had for decades are all ladder climbing career driven buffoons (e.g. Albo) or psycopaths (e.g. Trump) who can be easily manipulated given the right amount of promises, money, ego-stroking, threats, or blackmail. They do not serve their electorates or their countries. We flip and flop back and fourth from LNP to ALP, from Democrats to Republicans, from Tories to Labor, and so on and yet our nations continue in the same direction, almost magically in lock step with each other. Democracy is now an illusion. You can choose Coke or you can choose Pepsi, but at the end of the day they're both majority owned by the same shareholders.

            Yeah, which started (proper) when 10's if not 100's of thousands of Jews fled Germany in the late 1930's to the US, UK, Oz, South Africa, South America etc, etc…then laid low for a couple of decades.

              @alidli: I'm not that deep, nor interested in the depths of it all. All I know is we are supposed to reflect on the past horrors and yet somehow not align the principle of 'never again' with other cohorts. As though select ffew assign value on certain lives.
              That line in the sand of those gross atrocities seems inapplicable to the innocent victims of places like Gaza. "Hypocrisy" is nowhere near close enough to describe how comprehensive the international capitulation to denial has become as it engulfed our humanity.
