    Similar product for $19: https://www.kmart.com.au/product/16-piece-spice-jar-set-with…

$150 RRP is a fake rip-off like most of their products.

As much as I love to shit on House and Baccarat as much as the next guy, calling this a similar product seems pretty disingenuous.
Firstly, the Kmart one specifically says "Spices are not included", whereas the Baccarat one says "Includes 16 jars of the most common herbs and spices".
      Secondly, plastic vs glass.

      • 16 * $2 a pop still doesn't add up to $150 RRP. Both are glass.

        • A) it’s not being sold at $150. OP has posted the deal at $72, judge it at $72. Not some hypothetical, mythical price it may or may not be in the future.
          B) the jars look about twice the size of the $2 10g jars. So $4x16=$64. Holy shit, that’s actually LESS than the price difference you’re claiming is a joke. And you’re getting better quality jars to boot.

You are letting your preconceived hatred of House/Baccarat skew you on this one.

  • Not as many spices but this one looks pretty nifty.

Do any of these stop the spices from getting moisture in the bottle and clumping up?

    • -1

I don’t tend to have that issue but I keep mine in the pantry away from the stove. I just reuse the Masterfoods spice jars.

If you do have this problem maybe freshen the spices by spreading them out and using a low setting in an airfryer.

      AI
To freshen dried spices using an air fryer, you can dehydrate them at a low temperature. This process removes excess moisture, helping to revitalize the flavor and aroma of the spices. The air fryer should be set to the lowest temperature setting, typically around 130°F (54°C), and the spices should be spread in a single layer.

Their price on Oxo stuff can be quite reasonable but they do have a lot of stuff with ludicrous RRP on them.

      • +1

Yeah in more recent times I've bought oxo from either amazon or harris scarfe (but mostly amazon). House is too unpredictable, but that's a worthwhile brand shoutout.

I usually do Google comparison on prices and if House is lowest I see if they have stock to click and collect in a local store. I prefer bricks and mortar to online stores; pick it up, pay for it and take it home. Stuffing around with Delivery is a PITA.
