Are there any good deals for a budget digital watch that measures steps, heart rates, etc? It'll need to be able to connect to an Android phone too. Preferably less than $50, please.

Would you trust a free GP to give you an accurate result?
Free to the patient, or is the GP not paid for their time at all?
No additional cost to the patient (as opposed to free) if the GP is 100% bulk-billing, and $42.85 from the taxpayers via Medicare.
I would trust a medically trained doctor to give me an accurate result
Unless you mean “free GP” down some back street in Phuket, then no
What if the medically trained doctor is using equipment that cost $50?
@tenpercent: Medical doctor probably has eyes, ears, nose, mouth, arms, hands and fingers to augment his health assessment of a patient.
Oh, and is it 12 years of medical training?
is it 12 years of medical training?
So they will have forgotten first year before they even finish their training. And it's outdated by then too. Oh dear.
Hold on a moment while I just download the software update on my data collection watch….
⌚️
…Okay I'm pinging data to the corporations again. Where were we? Oh right.
probably has eyes, ears, nose, mouth
Without being offensive to medical doctors who are differently abled…
They probably also have heads and shoulders, knees and toes as well.
I think we can both pass first sem anatomy with expertise like this.@tenpercent: Well I know my doctor is more accurate at gauging me health than my smart watch.
My point of mentioning those body parts was that I was alluding to him using his five senses to assess me as well as the dodgy bit of outdated $50 machine you were referring to.
Remember the surface area of the watch is 42mm, and that's assuming the whole thing is in contact with you.
If Dr's $50 machine is broken, no doubt he can do stuff like take my pulse, use his stethoscope thingy, check my tongue and throat or whatever, assess for dehydration….
Point being, $50 doctor possibly more trustworthy than a $50 watch.
But you knew that.
@tenpercent: If your doctor is taking your temperature with his knees or toes, you really need to report him to someone.
Or blackmail him.
I bought a Huawei Band 8 about a year ago on AliExpress. With Ali coins it cost ~US$16, is a reputable brand, works well with Android, battery lasts 10-12 days, heart rate, steps, etc data looks reasonable, loads of cheap accessories (bands, protectors, charge cables) on Ali. Current pricing (Band 8/9/10) looks to be ~US$30 without coins.
