Business Laptop - Budget < $1,000

Hi Guys, looking for a business laptop < $1,000 for my wife. She just finished work with her employer and previously had a HP EliteBook 840 G8 16gb Core i5 2.80ghz with integrated graphics. 256gb storage.

Looking to pretty much get a similar setup for her for under $1,000 if I can.

Thoughts on the following deal? HP EliteBook 645 G10 14" FHD Touch Ryzen 7 16GB RAM 256GB Business Laptop $999

You can get the same as she had for under $600 on eBay, ex-lease.
Id probably go the g8 with 2.4ghz i5 I see on there for $400.

Somehow I dont think wife will be happy with a "used" laptop with potential issues and a worn battery.

This is for work and its a TAX DEDUCTION.
Hence net cost after tax is around $600

OP is on the mark with the one he has spotted.
Will be reliable, up to date and with full warranty and service backup

Although for working from home (as against portability) a laptop with 15.6" screeen will be much better!

  • I’d be looking at a Lenovo. Lot of ex lease ones

  • by "business laptop" , are you emphasizing more on portability / battery life / weight / size / build quality ?

current hardware specs performance mostly all up to the task for normal business use on usual office apps.

    • Neither Ideapads or Asus are "business" laptops.

There is a big element of good physical build quality and longer term hardware/firmware support with a business laptop line.

  • Latitudes are always good, esp the newer ones at 1.3kg. easily upgradable to 32gb ram too

  • Why do you need one? Does her new job not provide one?

    • Does her new job not provide one?

      Not all do.

How do you know she has a new job anyway?

      • That was part of the question. Why buy one assuming you won’t get one?

Maybe there are better options for her use-case.

  • Refurb
