As predicted here last week

From 1 August 2025 Optus Sport will close, and the Premier League, Emirates FA Cup, J.League and National Women’s Soccer League will move to Stan Sport.

This means that the Premier League and UEFA Champions League will now be reunited, in one place, Stan.

Optus has accepted an offer from Nine Entertainment Co and Stan to obtain the rights to Optus Sport football content, including the Premier League, Emirates FA Cup and more.

  • From recent AFR article:
"Under the agreement, Stan will provide Optus Sport customers (who remain Optus telecommunications customers) with discounted pricing so that they can continue to watch the Premier League and other transferred content and provide additional offers to Optus Sport customers who subscribe to Stan Entertainment and Stan Sport."

So does anyone know what this "discounted pricing" is?

    • $10 and includes Stan premium and Stan sports

      • Damn wish I was an Optus Sports customer still. Haven't had it since it was free with my old plan.

      • Is that mentioned anywhere officially by Stan? Any webpage?

      • That seems like terrific value, that must only be for a set number of months tho.
Whats the step by step in order to obtain this?

  • So for anybody who is currently not subscribed to Optus Sports will need to fork out at least $27/month to be able to watch EPL?!

      Does the comment above help?

But for $27/month you get the Champions League as well, so it's a good deal for those who had to pay both previously. Also Optus Sport for EPL alone was $24.99/month for non customers ($9.99 for customers).

      • Only if you paid monthly.
My renewal for Optus Sport came through on Sunday at $199 a year - so $16.58 a month. For new customers it was $229 a year - so $19.08 a month. This allowed viewing on 4 devices.

Minimum for Stan Sport WAS $27 a month for viewing on 1 device. So - $324 a year. This is an increase of 41.5%!

However they have just put up the price $5 so now the minimum is now $32 a month - $384 a year or 68% increase !!!!!!

        • Only if you paid monthly.

The problem with yearly is that the EPL only goes for 9 months, so even at full price, paying monthly for 9 months is only slightly more. I will be doing the same with Stan. Furthermore I could let the subscription lapse and only pay for another month, when the next game is on. Especially when there was a break for internationals, so it worked out similar or cheaper. Before taking into account paying via google pay 10% off gift cards etc. Or getting cheap/free prepaid sims via deals/cashback, and paying $12 for a month of optus sport via Optus Prepaid.

This is an increase of 41.5%!

If you only want EPL, yes it is not good. But for those who want champions league as well, who already had to buy Stan, it is a major saving. As I said in the comment 'a good deal for those who had to pay both previously.'

It will also be good to be able to watch EPL in 4K.

    • No way I would pay that, to the seas all the way

I am surprised OPTUS is still in business. They should have gone the way of Virgin / Ansett / Rex but I guess Vodafone isn't up to it.
