It would be easier for you to google it than have someone explain it here.
non-automatic coffee machine.
Means not capsule
Manual coffee machines typically mean that functions such as coffee grinding, frothing milk etc are manual, compared to automatic or fully automatic coffee machines that do it all, like your convenience store ones.
Doing things manually mean you have more control and can tweak things. Obviously more expensive ones like automatic are set and forget but consistent.
You need a separate grinder - getting preground coffee grounds from the supermarket won't be fine enough to pressurise the group head
Ah ok, I thought the difference were more than that. Thank you!
I means you have to do some work. Google…
Yeah yeah google bla bla bla. Sorry to ask a question mate
Is it as good as Bambino?
I wouldn't think so, but it is cheaper. The Bambino has a PID (this regulates the temperature much better than a thermostat).
Thank you. Will wait for Prime day deals
I've had a Breville Oracle for about 10 years. Getting a Bambino ($319) delivered tomorrow. If I remember I'll let you know how it is.
@wfdTamar: Keen on the verdict too!
I had a barista pro a few years back, upgraded but looking for a machine for the van.
@stewface: Only made one coffee yesterday. Not dialled in. Need to be frugal with the beans as they're so expensive now.
@stewface: That's what I got the Bambino for. It's pretty compact and light and the 3 second to ready is great for low power use (though it's advised to do a couple of blank shots to heat up the portafilter first).
I'm using a good quality hand grinder (though I have other grinder options). Not dialled the beans in yet, so can't really tell how good it is. The 54mm portafilter and basket does seem to limit how strong a coffee it can make. I have a bottomless one coming and might go for a deeper basket with that. It could just be the beans or my technique.
@Username Taken: Yes. We've got about 4 different packets of beans on the go (various that came with purchases), so difficult to get it right, but it is getting better. It certainly makes for a quick process not having to wait long for warm up.
Also have a Rancilio Silvia here to compare it to. That takes 20 minutes to warm up, but is pretty competent. Being a 58mm can make a strong coffee. Good steam power though the wand doesn't come up far enough (it's an early version).
I have this machine and it’s fine. I have bought a bottomless portafilter and a portafilter. We’re not that big of a coffee drinker house (make 2-3 per day max). I use it with a Kingrinder
I bought it for $179.10 in June last year
Got links to the portafilters?
Can also be found on AliExpress for around A$10. Don’t know how to sanitise a link to share here
I have the 685 and interested in doing the same.Could you please share which one you got?
This is also a good value for money option.
Has a stainless steel boiler and non pressurized baskets etc.
Great value at $149..
What are the pros/cons of this one vs the one in the deal?
Have a look on Youtube…there is heaps of love for this little Delonghi. It's not as pretty as some. But the stainless water tank and the non pressurized baskets at this price point are it's unique features..

And there are many others. Its plasticy and ugly but it's a solid machine.
FYI- think Aldi have this or a Similar one as this weeks special buys
You're right, not sure if same model but looks similar. White or Grey rather than stainless

Yes, it’s the cheaper one with a crappy plastic tamper, go the deal in here for sure!
Milk wand also looks different… hmmm
Dont go for the ALDI one. Steam wand is really sucky. Near impossible to steam milk properly / make latte art. Many ended up replacing it with Rancilio steam wand - both costly and time consuming
I noticed he talks about in the video I linked, says it's a massive upgrade from this earlier model.
Great tip! Thanks for letting me know, I’ll avoid that one then!
Not a big discount, it always sell $188 at Amazon all the time.
A discount is a discount..
“This is your ozbargain membership warning alert”
"Not a big discount" not equal to "Not a discount", "This is your primary school teacher warning alert"
Fair
And this machine has pressurized baskets, if I'm not mistaken. So need to factor that into the price, you'll probably want a new porterfilter if buying this machine and you are even semi serious about decent coffee.
Hi, what manual coffee machine means?
