Bernzomatic DuraCast 8000 MAP-Pro Torch Kit $109 + Shipping ($0 in-Store QLD) @ TradeTools

60

This looks similar to another SKU stocked by Total Tools and Sydney Tools going for $150-170 but it appears to only be sold at Trade Tools.
I'd buy it but shipping to VIC kills the deal.

    This deal is fire

  • Suprised they ship at alll.

  • Would this be good for lighting campfires and fire pits? Do you need a lighter to start it up?

    • +2

The torch has a built in igniter. Not sure about starting fires, but I'm sure 2000c is good enough for that.

cheaper to use LPG gas bottles with a bit of a DIY fitting

I've used them to sear meat, light charcoal and burn wood pellets for my bbq.

A friend bought one to a farm stay once and this thing got the wood fired chimney going in no time.

Works amazing, I use one to light my kamado Joe coals up, so quick.

Why is this so expensive? I picked up something similar for $20

    • +4

because this isnt a piece of crap like the cheap ones. Ive had so many of the cheap ones die on me that i regret not getting this in the first place. I have even had the cheaper ones catch on fire and not go out when i release the trigger, im lucky i didnt go up with it. Ive even had Bromic fail after 2 gas bottles, which kinda surprised me. I use them for lighting the charcoal bbq.

      • What do you do with these?

        • Have you seen the Korean movie Ballerina ? You can practice with this as a beginner.

You pay for quality. It also comes with a bottle of MAPP gas

  • lol using these to light / start fires or bbqs is ANTI-BARGAIN.

its effortless though… screwing around with supermarket lighters and firelighters sucks compared to blasting the charcoal directly with one of these. Its not the cheapest option thats for sure, but it does work really well. and as a bonus u have a mapp gas blowtorch if u ever need it

    Good for creme brulee

  • Where can you refill with this type of gas? I'm guessing a local servo wouldn't be able to do it?

  • $30 shipping to NSW. Deal Killer!
