    Such a crappy deal

Tell someone who gives a crap

    • -4

      Good deal for pandas though…

      • +1

Just make sure the pandas don't group together, or that would be an embarrassment.

      • +1

        Bampoo

  • A good company, this one

    • Why?

      • +2

They donated $4m to water and sanitation charities last year, and they're on a long-term quest to actually be useful. No company is perfect, but this one is definitely better than average.

  • +1

Are these good 3 ply toilet paper compared to say Quilton 3 ply?

    • +5

Yep, I've completely switched from Quilton to these ones about 4 years ago. Still haven't gone back. Don't get the recycled one though, they're ass (not in a good way).

      • Agreed, I like the feel of the bamboo ones. Thick and strong, although slightly 'rougher' than the quilton. But I prefer that feeling to be honest and it's good to know it's somewhat more environmental than the mainstream brands.

        • +10

Does your "more environmental" take into account shipping from overseas? Fuel, emissions, port handling, additional road or rail freight to/from ports?

          • +1

            @AnotherRedLight: Name checks out

          • @AnotherRedLight: Once divided down into this shipment? Probably.

          • +4

@AnotherRedLight: Quilton, and Kleenex both use woodchips from overseas, so all of those things apply to them as well as the tissue being made out of virgin Brazilian rainforest.

        • +1

What do these guys do that others don't. Generally interested, as I used to import TP commercially.

      • Agreed. Changed away from Quilton. Never thought I'd be doing this with bamboo, but here we are.

        • +2

You were initially bamboozled, now you're enthoozled

  • Good find, cheaper than buying on the WGAC website.

Might stock up a few instead of buying from WGAC directly.

  • +3

This crap coming from someone who's NOT JV … SOLD!

  • +10

Toilet paper comes from China. No thanks. Support local jobs

    • -1

Being an Australian company it does support local jobs.

      • +6

        it does support local jobs.

        The accountant?

        • +2

          The accountant?

          Including.

From receiving persons at the port, to delivery trucks, packing depo, ~ all the way to the plumber/ sewer specialist/ recyclers who endure all our crap.

          • +2

@YoursTruly: None of those things change if you buy from an non-Australian company.

Those people would still have those jobs… So it's not really 'supporting'…..

            • -4

              @jv: Really?

Those primary jobs get paid via the handling the same ~ hence it’s ’supporting’ their income via the said jobs.

Then there is the secondary trickle effect of those paid persons getting to spend their income on other things including locally ~ hence supporting those other trickled jobs…..

‘Supportception’ for the lack of a better word.

      • +3

Slave labour and charge a premium to maximise profits. No thanks. Support local manufacturing

        • -1

"support local manufacturing" isn't always viable. The idea of free trade is competitive advantages of different nations. Depending on some level of ESG required, some companies do abide by Modern Slavery laws and policies. Risk for Modern Slavery in China while have some concerns for some of their ethnic groups, is ranked moderately low based on it's per capita.

That said, Who Gives a Crap supposedly redistributes 50% profits back to communities and aid partners.

Toilet paper manufacturing has been around for decades, and is mostly machinery/capital intensive and not labour intensive, so idea of slave labour is moot.

          • +2

@kid-vhee: But it is in this case. Quilton is manufactured in Aus

            • @NatoTomato: I'm aware, I use quilton as well. My comment was about the 'slave labour' and "support local manufacture" comment which isn't viable for all industries.

    • This is why I prefer About A Dog - Australian made and owned

    • +1

What about ice cream? Or does your support stop at dessert time?

  • Is this not worthy of a deal @ $4.60 (was $6.00) for a 12 pack or recycle 3-ply?

    • Consumers don’t like recycled paper toilet paper. Also best to compare the per sheet cost (22c/100 sheets v 29cc/100 sheets) to account for different roll lengths.

      • +1

        Got ya

Both are money ‘flushed’ down the toilet. The quality of the ‘cheaper’ one is serviceable.

Wonder why the majority have not adopted the biddet here as alternatives. (I have and it’s awesome.) Paper is secondary and for cleaning up around the area)

  • Absolute garbage bog roll
Made in China rubbish that’s rebranded
I don’t trust any of their good deeds.

    • +1

Made in China? Yes. Re-branded? No. Produced by WGAC directly.

      blog

      • -2

That page just has words. It actually proves their are full of bulls….

Zero proof they aren’t just using a rebranded product. I want to see the factory floor.
How it’s made, what’s involved, etc.

      • +3

"We maintain close working relationships with all our factory partners in China."

Thisnos code for they get it off the same place as everyone else.

Source: I imported TP commercially for 15 years. I have vistited and chosen from the factories in China.

      • Produced by WGAC directly.

No it's not, they don't operate their own factories.

    • I don’t trust any of their good deeds.

Hardly any corporation can be trusted when it comes to money/ profits.

Profits 1st, everything else doesn’t have a number.

      • +6

Missed chance to say everything is else a number 2 to them

        • lol the chance is yours 👏🥲

    • +6

Do you have any evidence to back these claims about rebranding and their more charitable initiatives up?

  • i give a crap

    • How many times a day?

      • +1

        Hourly when I'm at work

  • Only marginally cheaper than getting the 12 roll box from Aldi @ $15.99.

    • The difference being you can stack this with 10% off, discounted gift cards, and spend $x get y points bonus offers.

    • This is $1.05 per roll. Aldi is $1.33 per roll.

The "Who Gives A Crap Double Length Bamboo Toilet Rolls" 8-pack, despite being an Australian company, is primarily manufactured in China. While some products are now made in the US and UK, the bamboo rolls are still predominantly made in China. The products are then shipped to various locations, including Australia, for distribution

Indeed no country of origin on the individual packets. Or on wollies pictures. EXPECT MADE IN CHINA.

    • +3

      So?

Does Australia have a commercial Bamboo plantation?

Indeed no country of origin on the individual packets.

  • I like the No Issues tp but it's way too dear.

  • What's the absolute best toilet paper out there at the moment just going by feel and not value? I have a need and I don't care how much I need to spend.

    • +1

I rate Kleenex for feel and value. I don’t know why everyone goes on about Quilton

    • +1

      Silk scarves? 😅

      • Louis Vuitton fabric is very soft, treat yourself OP.
