It's easy; I just transferred a heap of Apple Gift cards.

    Why does this scream scam

    • +5

All legit deals throw in an iPhone, for sure, definitely.

      • a "free" 0.3799% return for your 1 million is excellent value OBVIOUSLY

    • +1

Why? 90% of Ozbargainers are millionaires.

      • The other 10% are billionaires.

  • -3

I suspect people who have 1 million worth of share would not be on this site

    • +4

Hey that's harsh. Some of us are just waiting for the OzBargain IPO

    • +8

Rich people are often rich because they look after their cents, rather than their dollars.

    • +2

Such an incorrect perception. You are generalising the group you know or are aware off and apply to the whole community.

    • +2

      You suspect wrong.

Paying less for goods and services is part of the reason some people have more money than others. The people you see splashing money about are often living week to week on credit even if they have a high salary.

    Jeff Bezos here.

For multiple accounts do I need different emails and phone numbers or just emails? Looking to set up 237,000 accounts.

I did a previous promotion with these guys and got hit with some BS and they didn't honor their campaign. Beware.

    • +1

Interesting, was it due to selling or movement of assets that breached their T&C's or something more elusive

  • for an iphone… yeah nah… cr@p device.

Let me get in touch with my Nigerian prince cousin.

  • Reading through their site, it's a bit unclear to me what you're allowed to use the $100 coupon on. Is it actual cash they deposit into your trading account which you can either use to buy shares or withdraw as cash even, or is it "brokerage credits" to offset trading brokerage fees only? It seems a bit ambiguous (at least to me) if anyone can clarify with their experience? Thanks!

Example, if I buy $1000 of ASX shares, I pay $3 brokerage, and then they credit my account with $100 cash?

    From their site:

    "Stock cash coupon
    1. Stock cash coupon definition

Stock cash coupons are applicable to stock orders on Moomoo Securities Australia Ltd account(“Moomoo AU account”). After use, a cashback amount equal to the face value of the coupon will be credited to your account."

    • My understanding is that the cash coupon once available will be automatically applied to eligible orders made.

      T&C's are as follows:

"A coupon will be automatically applied to the client's first eligible trade order (buy-to-open orders exceeding AUD $100 only) within the Validity period. Whether the client can use a coupon depends on the order amount, product type, applicable market, and other conditions. Once the eligible order is filled within the Validity Period, the cashback will be credited to the client's account. Please note that each client can use only one coupon for each order, but coupons may be used in conjunction with a commission discount or zero-commission coupon, if applicable."

      • Thanks for that! I think I understand now, mostly lol. So looks like it's a credit that gets applied to the order itself and not just as offsetting brokerage fees. With the caveat being you will need to, presumably, deposit more funds to make separate trades for each $100 coupon you receive. So for example, if you have 5 x $100, you'd have to make 5 separate trades to benefit from the 5 coupons. Hmmm not sure if the admin is worth it unless you're eligible for the higher tiers, especially if transferring the shares out one day incurs $55 transfer fee per stock.

        • +1

Yep, it’s up to the individual and what tier they go after. Factors to consider include how many different types of securities you’re transferring in — since each will cost $55 to transfer out (So x * 55 = total transfer cost). This can be avoided if you sell the shares and withdraw as cash but has CGT implications etc.. Plus the number of trades needed to claim all the relevant vouchers, which can cost around $3 per trade at the minimum (So x * 3 = total cost to make trades). However if you have had Moo Moo for awhile you can use points to claim a commission free day which can reduce the brokerage to 0 if you make all trades in a day.

    • +3

It also says moomoo will charge you A$55 per ASX line to move your holdings elsewhere…

      • plus their customer service is not easy to deal with….. at least thats my experince. i would avoid moomoo.

    • +2

$10,000. Not $1,000. Not worth the risk or effort.

  • you know which animal makes moomoo sound? don't be a cow

For anybody that had trading experience from Etrade, Westpac trade and Commsec: Old school vert screen, no dark mode.
These guys finally come of age.
All online hor screen, dark mode by default. Stressful for ADHD sufferers. Still needs extra for life data.

    Downside: low spreads.

Say you buy a million of CBA and 2 days later you place them on Commsec 5 % over value: Some institution may do a crosstrade and you nearly earned 5% in under a week.

I am always and will be skeptical to those kind rewards from a non-Australian entity ( I am a migrant myself). They would try eveything possible to not to pay you trust me… It doesn't worth it.

  • How do these compare with Pearler? Anyone has experience with both?

  • +2

I've done the transfer in in the past, and will be taking up this offer too. Pretty painless process and is CHESS sponsored
