I have had no issues in the Red Zone and earned a reasonable amount of cashback so far ($40-50) but Purple Zone nearly all apps never end up tracking even just the install.
I tried all the challenges and did not get a cent.
What type of device are you using? On iPhone you have to make sure you select allow cross app tracking when ever you open the new game.
No issues with tracking with red or purple zones here too. Have got over $100 from Shopback Play so far. On Android.
I always wonder if by doing so, are you compromising your device?

What constitutes a "Goal"?
Is that a level? Its pretty vague.
Underneath each game, the goals are listed
i downloaded played 1 level, but nothing is tracked

Some of the apps have trouble tracking so you might need to do it a few times (Usually takes 10 min for the install step to track)
so keep uninstalling and installing till its tracked? Strange way for Shopback to run these challenges if this is the case!

I've previously tried multiple games and multiple times and it has always failed to track.

I completed a recent SB Red Zone Game challenge but the 1 minute in-game ads got really irritating. Won't play them again.
red zone is full of ads, but purple zone is much better, there are a few real games there

Real talk has anyone tried the purple zone games that are like… some poker machine thing and raid shadow legends for $90? They say to get to a certain level but idk if said level is some pay to win hard locked crap or if it just takes hours upon hours to reach
Purple zone has been very good for deals.
Made around $500 from them in the last month.
There's easy ones (buy a pack for $5, get $15), to ones where you need to play. Monopoly Go in particular was nice, made about $300 from it.
How much committed time for this kind of income?
The purchases are pretty breezy, maybe 5 minutes for $10 profit. Some games are ridiculous, like Vikings Rise I think was about $50 profit just for buying things that cost less (e.g., Purchase a level 0 chest for $1, get $2. Purchase a level 1 chest for $7.50, get $15 etc.).
The goals are all over the place and depends on a few things. For ~$200 I'd say it's maybe 10 hours in Monopoly Go, but you also have to hit the targets within a certain time limit of a week and it's a bit RNG-based. The game itself isn't bad either which is nice.
For some of the other ones it's definitely easy to hit earlier goals (in an hour or two can pull in $10-$30), but if you play too long you'll definitely hit the snag of 1 level is like 10 hours and you need to get 2 levels which is a pain in the ass.
Finally got one to track using 'Thats my seat'. Also has $7.46 bonus for installing - so $17.46 all up.
Why/how is this earning money from playing games a thing? Is it just boosting popularity on play store and diverting some revenue to player via shopback?
