Always worth noting that most of the features are hidden behind a subscription. This deal includes 1 year, but worth keeping in mind if you are having multiple kids or will use this monitor post the 1-year mark.

I have the v2. If it wasn't a gift, I would be lot more disappointed and replaced it. The features paywall takes away lots of seemingly basic features like saving videos, only being able review last 24hrs. Then there's the random crashes where you need to physically unplug to reboot the device. Do not spend your hard earned on this.

A cheap Tapo does much of the same for $50.

You hardly need any of these paid “ai” features.

    • Yeah… cheapy vtech at Big W for $150 vouch from me.

Even on discount this seems like a premium.

    • Not even $50

      $30 for a tapo nowadays

    • Been using the tapo for many years works perfect.
Dont need the ai features mostly a gimmick.

    • Agreed with Tapo cameras. I have 4 set up for home security, still has one spare C200 camera, so I tested it out monitoring my "baby" yesterday. Basically to monitor my 3D printer with its print progress, works very well :)

      • I have one for my 3d printer too

    • but just look at the picture!
      doesn't it look so cute!
Shirley that is worth $300 right there

    • Have to agree with you.

It is amazing how Marketing works on the insecurities of new parents, some of which would not think twice about paying this sort of money for a baby monitor.

My daughter first time mum bought the v2 version and gave it to us to use as she then purchased something else.

I found it cumbersome and had some tech issues with it. It still worked and was ok.

When she had her second child she asked for it back and I replaced it with a Mubview Indoor Security Camera for $39.99 and did a great job. Still using it now.

Don't get direct; get from Amazon, better returns policy if you have hardware issues

This. Cubo's support is complete bullshit. Tried to make me do full network diagnostics and port forwarding etc etc because of consistently choppy audio & video. This went on and on for a week until I remembered I bought it from Amazon. Contacted support (this is about 8 months post purchase), advised the issue and that Cubo support were unhelpful and had it returned & refunded in a day. Didn't even have to mention ACL. Bought a new one for cheaper as they were on sale. Happy days.

  • The features seem identical to the v2 and some are pointless. Children who can rollover but aren't able to right themselves shouldn't be alone in a cot in a separate room (hence we have bassinets with zippable sides). There also shouldn't be anything in the cot they can cover their face with.

Our kids are 3 & 2 and we still use their Cubos for monitoring them at night but predominantly for the white noise feature. It's handy to see when they went to sleep / woke up in order to judge nap timing. The device also gives alerts for temp & humidity levels (set via the app), handy if you have an older house without ducted.

I'd say buy the v2 if you can find it, I paid $249 last time.
