another headlamp I found on a slightly higher budget than the $18 blukar and $28 Sofirn (18650).

this one is with big 21700 battery (4800mAh according to someone who had a look) inside for a little more. those who don't mind the extra bulk and want the best battery life. Sofirn 18650 was 3000mAh btw. so 4800mAh of 21700 not a dramatic increase probably for the extra weight of the torch and battery, but well worth it for those who want great battery life.

I think the weight of 18650 is fine, don't even feel the weight (but could be due to Sofirn's great design with a curved foamed pad) but personally I wouldn't go heavier.

feel like repeating myself but don't expect 2000lm for very long, probably 10~30 seconds before it drops down to 850. 2000lm is also spot+flood.
Spot only is 1300lm max (again only seconds) then down to 500lm.
Flood only is 700lm down to 350lm. (you can see it's the smaller of two LED)

one negative review said it stopped working after 6 months. from amazon so solution is easy return. seems like a faulty product to me from what I'm reading Wurkkos is one step above Sofirn quality.

    Edit: This HD10 Review says the battery is 14500.

      yeah it is.

      but read up on it it's not easy to get good batteries which aren't 18650 and 21700. even I hear if you got 21700 your options were very few until recently.

      if you get 14500 last time I checked you can get all types of batteries on aliexpress, but for something like that there will be like 2 unbranded options (sometimes one with random brand like ____ power). maybe wurkkos or sofirn will have their own branded ones though for replacement, but usually not cheap.

      also didn't explain it above but my main issue with small battery is not just that you will charge it often/use up cycles quicker than a big one and have to replace it sooner, but mainly it's the battery life. at equal brightness such as 400lm or similar, the 18650/21700 will last way longer.

      if you don't use it as often, you will be charging a small battery once per week. if you use it everyday you will need to remember to charge it everyday. if you forget, well no light for you next day (it might just turn off 5 mins into your task).

      as I have said in post. I was first eyeing the Blukar because of it's super lightweight and compact size. but weight of 18650 headlamp (Sofirn H35R) was no issue for me. I was actually surprised thought it might feel too heavy and I would return it.

    it's easy to return anything faulty to amazon at any time.

    I have gotten full refunds on products which became faulty within 2 years.

    one exception seems to be if you order some expensive large appliance from amazon international. I read a few times they can be difficult and ask you to ship the big item back overseas which can be expensive. one comment I read said "they promised to refund the shipping" but idk if that actually happened in the end.

    sorry these deals go pretty quick.

    there was also black colour I think, which was $47 (46.XX) before discount (green was $43.XX). so $37 after coupon. but they seem all gone too only orange left at full price (orange was full price from the beginning).

    same happened with HD15 deal out of stock in less than hour.. 😪

  Nah, 21700 battery is getting a bit too big and heavy to be carried in a headlamp.
